Mike Levin

Democrat · U.S. House, California District 49

Levin voted for the February 2024 Israel aid bill "for the defense of the Israeli people," criticizing that humanitarian aid to Palestinians was left out. In July 2026 he opposed the Massie Amendment, warning it could strip humanitarian aid for Palestinians, and said Netanyahu "must go."

On the February 6, 2024 Israel aid bill, Levin said "My support of this legislation is for the defense of the Israeli people," while criticizing that "humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, defense aid to Ukraine and Taiwan" were left out, and that "the only way to live in peace, security, and dignity is to establish a Palestinian state" alongside Israel.

On July 15, 2026 he opposed the Massie Amendment: "Its overly broad language could strip funding from peacebuilding initiatives between Israelis and Palestinians, humanitarian aid for Palestinians in desperate need, refugee resettlement, and American diplomacy." In the same statement he called the conflict's suffering "staggering," called West Bank settler violence against Palestinian families "abhorrent," noted his co-sponsorship of the West Bank Violence Prevention Act, and said "I have made clear that Netanyahu must go."

In between, he supported Israel's right to defend itself after the June 2025 strikes on Iranian nuclear targets, backed U.S. diplomatic and material support to prevent escalation, pressed Israel in July 2025 to ensure unimpeded aid delivery to Gaza civilians while noting Hamas started the war, and opposed new West Bank settlement construction in September 2025. In April 2024 he told reporters Israel needed "new leaders".
