Erik Underwood
Underwood's platform says he supports Colorado families sponsoring Palestinian families "fleeing the ongoing genocide in Gaza", and promises an executive order on Palestinian refugee sponsorship in his first fortnight. He also wants the American Israel Public Affairs Committee made to register as a foreign agent.
Underwood is the Approval Voting Party's nominee for governor of Colorado, and his platform gives this subject more room than any other candidate's in this batch.
Under the heading "Supporting Palestinian Families", his justice and human rights page says: "I support Colorado families who want to sponsor Palestinian families fleeing the ongoing genocide in Gaza. I believe in human rights and civil rights for all, and as Governor, I will condemn the atrocities happening in Gaza." His implementation timeline turns that into a dated commitment: in the first fortnight of a term he would "Issue executive order supporting Palestinian refugee sponsorship", alongside orders on private prisons and immigration enforcement.
The second half of his platform on this subject is about money in American politics. Plank 14, "AIPAC Policy", opens: "AIPAC must be stopped. I have the courage to stand up to them and foreign money interest." A dedicated page makes the argument: "No Foreign Government Should Own an American Election. The Foreign Agents Registration Act has been the law since 1938. It is time to enforce it -- starting with AIPAC." What he wants is registration and disclosure. He attributes to the committee and its affiliated super political action committee nearly $127 million across 389 congressional races in one cycle, and more than $15 million against a Kentucky congressman who introduced a registration bill; those figures are his, recorded as his claims.
Two limits are worth stating. He says nothing about U.S. weapons or U.S. military money for the government of Israel, and a reader should not read the lobbying plank as a substitute. And neither commitment is fully within the office: registration under that Act is enforced by the federal Justice Department, and refugee sponsorship is a federal programme a governor can support but not create.
