Deep Dive
Nixon is a Florida state representative from Jacksonville running in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate. Her campaign platform is unusually specific on this subject.
Under foreign policy her priorities page says she will fight for "Ending unconditional U.S. military aid that has fueled the genocide in Palestine", for "Surging humanitarian aid into Gaza and the Westbank and supporting a lasting ceasefire, an end to US support for illegal settlements, and a political path to Palestinian self-determination", and for "Restoring U.S. participation and funding across UN agencies". The section opens by saying American foreign policy should reflect the values of everyday Americans, "not the interests of defense contractors and foreign lobbies".
She has said the same about a specific vote. After the House rejected an amendment that would have stripped $3.3 billion in military and humanitarian aid to the government of Israel, she told the Florida Phoenix she "would have voted in support of that, because we cannot continue to send money to countries that are violating international law". Her primary opponent, asked the same question on the same occasion, did not give a direct answer.
She has also cast a vote of her own on this, in Tallahassee rather than Washington. She was one of three members of the Florida House to vote against a bill widening the state's prohibition on investing in and contracting with entities that boycott Israel, reaching educational institutions, nonprofits, local and foreign governments, and academic boycotts. It passed anyway. And she has stood with student demonstrators at the University of North Florida, telling them "there are some elected officials that support them" and that "they are on the right side of history". On her own fundraising she has said "I am not bought by corporations. I am not receiving AIPAC funding", which is about her campaign rather than about what the United States sends.
The record
• Said she would have voted for Rep. Thomas Massie's U.S. House amendment to strip $3.3 billion in military and humanitarian aid to Israel, after the amendment was defeated in mid-July 2026 with 103 House Democrats in support. Her primary rival Alex Vindman, asked the same question by the Florida Phoenix, did not give a direct answer.
• Voted No on CS/CS/SB 1678 (2025), the bill expanding Florida's prohibition on state investment in and contracting with entities that boycott Israel (amending Fla. Stat. 215.4725 and 287.135) to cover educational institutions, nonprofits, agencies, local and foreign governments and academic boycotts. She was one of only three members to oppose it on the House floor on April 29, 2025 (111-3), alongside Reps. Eskamani and Joseph; the bill became Chapter 2025-192.
• Sponsored and voted for HR 31-C in Florida's November 2023 special session, urging the Biden administration to call for and facilitate de-escalation and a cease-fire and 'to promptly send and facilitate the entry of humanitarian assistance into Gaza'. The House rejected it 104-2 on November 7, 2023, with only Nixon and Rep. Anna Eskamani voting yes; during the debate she was called antisemitic and evil and many members turned their backs to her as she spoke.
• Her U.S. Senate campaign platform commits her to 'Ending unconditional U.S. military aid that has fueled the genocide in Palestine', to surging humanitarian aid into Gaza and the West Bank, and to restoring U.S. participation and funding across UN agencies including core humanitarian programs.
• Publicly stated in June 2026 that she is 'not receiving AIPAC funding', and USCPR Action lists her as a 2026 endorsee under criteria that include refusing to take any money from AIPAC.

- [Position, read 2026-08-18] Her campaign priorities page, under the heading "A Foreign Policy Rooted in Diplomacy, Human Rights, and Restraint", lists under "Angie will fight for:" the line "Ending unconditional U.S. military aid that has fueled the genocide in Palestine". Verified verbatim against the page. The section opens: "Angie believes American foreign policy should reflect the values of everyday Americans, not the interests of defense contractors and foreign lobbies." Live campaign page with no date of its own, banded to the read. The recipient is not named in the bullet itself; the card names it in its own second sentence rather than sharpening her wording.
- [Position, 2026-07-21] Asked by the Florida Phoenix how she would have voted on the House amendment that would have stripped $3.3 billion in military and humanitarian aid to Israel, she said: "I would have voted in support of that, because we cannot continue to send money to countries that are violating international law, that are violating human rights, that are actively destroying". She spoke to a Phoenix reporter on WMNF Radio in Tampa on the Friday before publication; the date used is the article's own published date, disclosed as such. The same article records that her primary opponent "did not give a direct answer". The Florida Pundit's account of the same exchange also opens and agrees.
