By Aug. 10, 2025, amid the Gaza humanitarian crisis, he shifted to endorse a U.S. Senate push to block some arms sales to Israel as 'the right kind of message' to pressure Prime Minister Netanyahu over Gaza aid and starvation, while still affirming Israel's right to defend itself and calling for Hamas to release hostages. Illinois maintains a 2015 anti-boycott pension-divestment law (enacted under his Republican predecessor); as of 2025 Pritzker had not committed to signing or vetoing a repeal.
