Jeffrey Walter

Republican · U.S. House, Illinois District 11

Walter told a February 2026 questionnaire: "Israel is a key ally with an unquestionable right to defend itself against terrorism and external threats. I support U.S. assistance to Israel's defense and security, along with diplomatic efforts to prevent wider regional conflict and protect civilian lives."

Walter is the Republican candidate for Illinois's 11th District, running against Rep. Bill Foster.

His position is a single questionnaire answer, and it is unusually complete for one. Asked about U.S. intervention in Ukraine, Israel and Venezuela, he answered: "Israel: Israel is a key ally with an unquestionable right to defend itself against terrorism and external threats. I support U.S. assistance to Israel's defense and security, along with diplomatic efforts to prevent wider regional conflict and protect civilian lives, while maintaining Israel's ability to ensure its own security."

That is support for defence and security assistance, paired with protecting civilian lives through diplomacy rather than through conditions on the aid. He has published nothing we could read on specific packages, transfers or conditions, and nothing on U.S. aid to Palestinians.

A second questionnaire, in the Daily Herald, is reported to carry a longer answer of his about "conditions-based negotiations" and rejecting terrorism. We could not read that page, and one phrase attributed to it also appears on another candidate's record in this batch, so none of it is used here.
