As Republican Conference chair, McClain welcomed a 2026 funding bill that blocks U.S. money for UNRWA, which aids Palestinian refugees, saying taxpayers had been made to "bankroll hostile regimes". In 2022 she said the U.S. "must always support the Iron Dome".
McClain represents Michigan’s 9th District and chairs the House Republican Conference, which makes her a spokesperson for the House majority as well as a member.
Her clearest current-position act on this question is in that role. On July 15, 2026 she issued the Conference’s statement welcoming House passage of the FY2027 national security and State Department funding bill: "For too long, taxpayers were forced to bankroll hostile regimes, broken international organizations, and radical programs that made our country weaker. House Republicans are restoring strength and making every dollar serve a clear national purpose." The same release sets out what the bill does: it "blocks funding for UNRWA, the World Health Organization, the International Criminal Court, and the International Court of Justice" and cuts $1.8 billion from United Nations and international peacekeeping contributions. UNRWA is the U.N. agency that delivers aid to Palestinian refugees, so this is a position on U.S. money to Palestinians, and the direction is to stop it.
On the other recipient, her one located statement is older. In an August 2022 post she wrote: "Israel is a great ally of the United States, and we must always support the Iron Dome that has saved countless lives." That is a call to keep U.S. money flowing to Israeli missile defence, and it predates October 2023, so the card carries it as record rather than as a current position.
In April 2024 she said "Iran is an enemy of the free world, and Israel has every right to defend itself". Her statements from October and November 2023 fall inside the months after October 7, 2023 and are on the research page. ⚠ **ATTRIBUTION SPLIT.** The quoted sentences are hers, marked "Chairwoman McClain said". The description of what the bill blocks is the release's, not a quotation from her. The card keeps them separate. The release also carries a statement from Rep. Diaz-Balart, so it is a multi-speaker document and her attribution was checked on the page rather than assumed.
U.S. military aid and weapons to Israel
- 2022-08-05 [Earlier record, before the current period; card-closing as history]: On her own account she wrote: "Israel is a great ally of the United States, and we must always support the Iron Dome that has saved countless lives." (source) A call to continue U.S. funding for Israeli missile defence. Carried at the end of the card, phrased as history, which is what the banding rule allows for prior-band material.
- 2020-11-24 [Earlier record]: In an interview with Jewish News Syndicate she described the U.S. and Israel relationship as "imperative" and mutually beneficial.
- 2023-11-15 [Months after October 7, 2023; on this page only]: As Conference Chair she criticised delays in passing standalone emergency defence aid for Israel, saying "As Israel defends its right to exist, U.S. support is indispensable", and urged immediate federal backing for systems including Iron Dome. This is her most specific in-scope statement about U.S. weapons and it is inside the months after October 7, 2023, so it does not appear on the card.
- 2024-05 [Current position; CLAIM NOT SUPPORTED BY ITS SOURCE]: The first search reported that after House action on legislation to force release of delayed defence shipments she said: "I just wish some of my counterparts across the aisle would stop siding with terrorist groups and actually stand with our allies." The source it cited was opened and read and does not contain that quote or anything about withholding shipments. Excluded. What that page does carry is the April 2024 quote below, plus its own summary of her voting record.

What came back empty or unusable
- The record's existing research notes her campaign site's eleven issue headings include no mention of Israel, Gaza, UNRWA, foreign aid or U.S. military assistance to any country, and that her official National Security page names China, Russia, Iran and North Korea as its subjects and mentions Israel once, only as an ally Iran targets.
- It also records that her official press-release archive was paged through in full, 286 releases from January 2021 to July 2026, and that of the 145 dated after 25 October 2023 exactly two reference Israel or Hamas in their titles.
