McIver has represented New Jersey's 10th District since 2024.
Her position is expressed through legislation and letters rather than through statements of her own, and it puts her among the minority of New Jersey's delegation on this question. In June 2026 she co-sponsored the Block the Bombs Act, which would restrict and prohibit the transfer of certain U.S. defence articles, weapons and services to Israel.
In November 2025 she was one of 125 Democrats signing a letter to the Secretary of State calling for robust American leadership to feed Palestinian civilians. Her name appears in the signatory list, confirmed. In June 2026 she was among 62 members demanding that Israel stop blocking access to treatment for Palestinians with cancer.
Before Congress, as Newark City Council President, she spoke at a February 2024 rally for a ceasefire resolution and told NJ Spotlight News that the turmoil in Israel and Gaza is wrong, adding that in Newark they stand with and pray for families on every side who have lost loved ones. In May 2025 she took part in a roundtable with local rabbis on community safety, antisemitism and federal security funding for Jewish institutions.
