Marker is a Roswell resident and the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in New Mexico. He became the nominee an unusual way: no Republican filed the paperwork to appear on the primary ballot, so he ran a write-in campaign and cleared the threshold.

One thing that looks like evidence is not. A voter guide covering an earlier state-level campaign of his puts the question directly, twice: is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why. His entry reads "Did not answer" both times. So does every other question on the form, sixty-eight of them. That is a fact about who filled the form in, not about what he thinks, and it is recorded on the research page as such rather than used against him.
