Her February 2024 statement carries the front quote and its context: "After Hamas’s gruesome attacks on Israelis on October 7, our support must be ironclad and our commitment to freeing the hostages must be unwavering", while criticizing the bill’s Republican packaging. In April 2024 she praised the bipartisan package that would "assist Israel as it fights to eliminate Hamas and rescue hostages" alongside global humanitarian aid. In March 2024 she told The Nevada Independent she supported the administration’s "balanced approach": the civilian death toll in Gaza was unacceptable, but Hamas was to blame for the lack of a ceasefire.
Her frame is long-standing. In May 2021 she backed Israel’s right to defend itself against rocket attacks while criticizing Hamas for "housing military operations among civilians" and urging restraint toward a two-state solution, and publicly pushed back when her own state party chair criticized Israel: "Usually the party is there to support the delegation or the candidates, not to take an independent position." In 2013 she joined an AIEF educational trip to Israel, calling Israel "a critical ally and reliable partner".
