Carey Coleman
Coleman has taken no public position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians. His campaign platform covers living costs, public safety, constitutional rights, jobs and infrastructure, and does not mention the conflict, foreign aid or the Middle East.
Coleman is the Republican nominee in Ohio's 13th District, a former WNIR talk-radio host and television meteorologist who won the May 5, 2026 primary and faces Rep. Emilia Sykes in November.
Nothing located has him addressing U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, U.S. aid to Palestinians, or the conflict itself. His campaign site, read on September 4, 2026, is about prices, crime, the Constitution, jobs, infrastructure and Ohio's public pension funds; his Ballotpedia page carries no completed candidate survey; and the Signal Akron voter guide records that he did not respond in time for publication. Not answering a guide is not a position either way.
You are better placed to change that than we are. Ask Coleman directly and send us the reply: it goes on this page in his own words.
Research
Two searches were read as one lead list for this card: one run 2026-08-11 and one run 2026-09-03. Every page cited below was opened and read on 2026-09-04 unless marked otherwise. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated.
U.S. military aid and weapons to Israel
- Nothing located. Both searches returned an explicit not-found verdict on this dimension. His campaign site was read in full: home (320 words retrieved), About (464 words), Issues (1,051 words: Lower Costs, Law & Order, Defending Freedom, American Jobs, Building Strong Communities) and Education (482 words, on Ohio's public pension funds). No page mentions Israel, Gaza, Palestinians, the Middle East, foreign aid or foreign policy. Ballotpedia shows no completed 2026 Candidate Connection survey; its extract of his campaign site (dated April 23, 2026) carries nothing on this topic. BallotReady lists no issue stances.
- [Position; read 2026-09-04] iVoterGuide's profile for the May 5, 2026 Republican primary records "Did not answer" against every question, including "Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?" and the foreign-policy multiple-choice question. That is a fact about the guide's coverage, not a statement by him.
- [Position, 2026-04-13] Signal Akron's primary candidate guide, under his own heading: "The candidate did not respond in time for publication." The guide's questions are about priorities and the role of a representative, not this topic.
U.S. aid to Palestinians
- Nothing located on UNRWA, Gaza humanitarian funding or the aid pipeline.
Characterization of the conflict
- Nothing located from Coleman characterizing the conflict.
Related rhetoric and lobbying
- Nothing located: no statement on lobbying organizations or their endorsements. iVoterGuide lists endorsements from Ohio Citizens PAC, We the People Convention, Bill Roemer, Freedom for All PAC, Heidi Workman and Tim Barhorst; none concerns this topic.
- [Position, 2026-05-06] WNIR's report of his primary win (John Maczko, May 6, 2026) says he joined the race to improve public safety, border security and constitutional rights and to keep taxes under control. Nothing on this topic.
Safety and antisemitism (context, not a position on what America sends)
- [Position, 2026-05-06; memo dated May 5, 2026] The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the House Democrats' campaign arm, published "The Case Against Carey Coleman". Among many attacks on other subjects, it says: "He has praised racist far-right online provocateur Nick Shirley — who harassed street vendors as 'dangerous migrant scammers' and publicly endorsed an antisemitic 'Jewish invasion' video — as 'truly amazing.'" The memo's own links behind that sentence resolve to a post on his campaign's X account (https://x.com/colemanforohio/status/2019483839140180096, which does not render to us), to a December 31, 2025 Intercept report on Shirley's Minnesota videos, to a Yahoo-syndicated opinion piece on Shirley, and to a YouTube video. The characterizations are the DCCC's; the words "truly amazing" could not be read at their source. This is an opposing party committee speaking about the candidate: research page only. Nothing located from Coleman himself on antisemitism.
Not on the card, and why
- The DCCC memo: third-party speech by an opposing party committee, and its primary source (an X post) could not be read. Research page only.
- The unanswered iVoterGuide questions and the Signal Akron non-response: facts about the guides, not about him; a survey is not the only way to hold a view.
- A "Carey Coleman, Artist" who signed Art Not Genocide Alliance's 2024 letter calling for Israel's exclusion from the Venice Biennale is a different person; the candidate is a broadcaster and the 2026-09-03 search itself flagged the namesake. Excluded; nothing from that list is attributed to him.
- An Associated Press story on his primary win carried by 10tv.com returned 403 on both routes and was not read; WNIR and Ballotpedia cover the same result.
