Davidson has represented Ohio's 8th District since 2016.
His April 2024 statement explains a vote against a package that funded Israel, and the reasoning is about American spending rather than about Israel: "Today, the uniparty D.C. establishment spent $100 billion securing other countries' borders but could not spare a cent to secure our own. My constituents' hard-earned tax dollars will fund the Biden Administration's missionless foreign policy agenda."
He then named what he objected to most: "Most troubling is the $9 billion in humanitarian aid for Gaza, which we know will fund Hamas terrorists."
That is the distinguishing feature of his record. He is recorded voting no on three of the four Israel funding measures on this card, and his stated objection is to foreign spending generally and to Palestinian humanitarian aid specifically, not to assistance for Israel.
In August 2024 he described the regional conflict as a proxy war between Iran and Israel, and in July 2025 he dismissed the idea of an American responsibility to rebuild Gaza.

U.S. military aid and weapons to Israel

**Read carefully, this is not opposition to aid for Israel.** His stated objections are to the scale of foreign spending, to border priorities, and to the Palestinian humanitarian aid in the same bill. His badge set shows him voting no on most Israel funding measures, and this statement is the only located explanation of why.

⚠ A DUPLICATED PHRASE ACROSS TWO OHIO REPUBLICANS
- The October 2023 sentences attributed to him, "the acts of terrorism unleashed upon Israel this weekend are heinous and must be condemned in the strongest sense possible" and "unprovoked crimes against humanity," are attributed **word for word** to Rep. Mike Carey on another card, dated 8 October 2023. **Neither entry supplies a resolvable URL for it**: both entries resolve to nothing.
- Either both members issued near-identical statements, which happens with shared caucus language, or the research has mixed up two Ohio Republicans. It cannot be settled from what was found, so the phrase is used on neither card. This pattern has appeared before, with Walter and Bean in Illinois and Esti and DeLancy in Georgia.
