How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. An initial search records that she said she supports ending U.S. military aid to countries engaged in ongoing human rights abuses, naming Israel and Egypt explicitly, that "human rights can’t be negotiable", and that U.S. tax dollars should not subsidise foreign human rights abuses while communities in her district are underfunded in healthcare and education.
Her answer is quoted directly, in full: "Yes. Human rights can’t be negotiable, and they shouldn’t come with a US taxpayer subsidy attached — that includes Israel and Egypt. I support ending military aid to any government engaged in ongoing human rights abuses. Our tax dollars should reflect our values, not prop up abuses abroad while communities here in TX-08 are told there’s no money left for healthcare, schools, or infrastructure."
