David Bronson

Republican · Governor, Alaska

As Anchorage's mayor, Bronson said the war would end and Palestinians would receive aid when Hamas surrendered and released its hostages, and: "I remain steadfast in my support for Israel to defend itself". He has not addressed U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel (research).

Bronson served as mayor of Anchorage and is a Republican candidate for governor of Alaska.

In March 2024, after dozens of his campaign signs were sprayed with the words "Genocide" and "Free Palestine", he issued a statement that Must Read Alaska carried in full. It puts a condition on aid reaching Palestinians: "The war will end and Palestinians will receive aid when the Hamas terrorists surrender and release their hostages, eight of which are American citizens." The same statement closes: "I remain steadfast in my support for Israel to defend itself, and reject any expression of antisemitism." He is describing the war, not a United States aid programme, and nothing here is stretched into one.

On the other question this site asks, what the United States sends the government of Israel in weapons and military money, he has said nothing that we could find, and his campaign site is about the economy, infrastructure, housing, education, the Permanent Fund Dividend and government reform.

If you want that answer, you are better placed to get it than we are: ask Bronson directly and send us the reply. It goes on this page in his own words.
