Sarah Huckabee Sanders

Republican · Governor of AR

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R), Arkansas incumbent and former Trump White House press secretary, is one of the most vocally pro-Israel U.S. governors. In August 2025 she made her first official trip to Israel as governor, met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Economy Minister Nir Barkat, toured the Ariel settlement in the West Bank alongside U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, and signed an Arkansas-Israel economic-cooperation Memorandum of Understanding. Her office touts concrete state-level support for Israel: a decision to invest up to $50 million of state retirement funds in Israeli bonds (on top of roughly $55 million already held by the Arkansas Treasury), production of Iron Dome components in Arkansas by firms such as Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, and a state 'Judea and Samaria' measure requiring the state to refer to the West Bank as Judea and Samaria. After the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attack she called it 'an act of war' and urged the U.S. to 'stand with our Israeli friends and allies' (Oct. 2023 statement sourced to KARK; not independently re-verified by the verifier — see verificationNotes). Arkansas also pioneered anti-boycott (boycott, divestment and sanctions) law with Act 710 of 2017 (enacted under her predecessor Gov. Asa Hutchinson, before Sanders took office), which bars public entities from contracting with companies that boycott Israel.
