Steve Hilton, the Republican who advanced from California’s June 2, 2026 top-two primary, has not said what he would do about U.S. weapons or U.S. money sent to the government of Israel, or about U.S. aid to Palestinians — the powers in question belong to Congress, not to a governor. What he has committed to is a state enforcement action: at a February 26, 2026 candidate forum in Los Angeles he said that as governor he would have his attorney general sue California cities that boycott or divest from Israel in breach of the state’s anti-boycott law, AB 2844, and that he would resist a ballot initiative to repeal it. In a May 18, 2026 interview he criticised his Democratic rivals’ answers on Gaza. Neither is a position on what the United States sends.
