Dwayne Romero

Democrat · U.S. House, Colorado District 3

Asked in The Colorado Sun’s June 2026 primary guide about U.S. military funding for Israel, Romero said “Yes, from a defensive perspective, but I do not want to see it so aggressive and offensive where it brings civilians into harm’s way.” Nothing located has him addressing U.S. aid to Palestinians.

Romero is the Democratic nominee in Colorado’s 3rd District, an Army combat veteran and former Aspen city councilman who won the June 2026 primary.

His one located position is his own answer to The Colorado Sun’s primary issues guide in June 2026. Asked whether he supports continued U.S. military funding for Israel and whether conditions should attach, he said: “Yes, from a defensive perspective, but I do not want to see it so aggressive and offensive where it brings civilians into harm’s way.” He went on to a “values perspective”: the state of Israel “has been a very strong and consistent strategic partner of ours in the region,” but “there are times when a good nation (has) a bad administration,” and civilians on both sides “being put in harm’s way and injured, killed — that’s beyond the pale.”

That is a yes to defensive funding with a stated objection to its offensive use against civilians, given before his nomination. Nothing located has him addressing U.S. humanitarian aid for Palestinians as a funding question, lobbying organizations, or antisemitism.
