Michael S Dr. Katz

Nothing located as of September 2026 has Katz taking a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians. His platform does not reach these questions, and neither does the candidate questionnaire he answered in August.

Michael Katz is the Republican nominee for Delaware's seat in the U.S. Senate. He is a pediatric critical care anesthesiologist who also owns a commercial real estate company, and he sat in the Delaware State Senate from 2009 to 2013, elected there as a Democrat. He was the Independent Party of Delaware's nominee for this same seat in 2024, finishing third, and he chaired that party until this year. He won the Republican primary on September 15, 2026 with 77.3 percent of the vote and faces Chris Coons, the sitting senator, on November 3.

This is an empty record on these questions rather than a thin one. His platform runs to eleven sections and a printable version of about 8,900 words, and Israel, Gaza, Palestinians and foreign aid appear nowhere in it. Its national security section closes with a heading about standing with allies and standing up to adversaries, and the paragraph under it names no country. He answered every question on Ballotpedia's candidate questionnaire on August 13, 2026, including one that invited him to name the country's greatest challenges over the next decade; that answer reaches a strong national defense and "emerging threats from foreign adversaries" and stops there, naming no country and no form of aid. The issue stances his campaign has published on BallotReady sit under eleven headings, none of them foreign policy, and his campaign's own tracker of what the sitting senator is doing in Washington goes through war powers and State Department spending without ever reaching this subject. An empty record carries no implication either way.

The nearest his published material comes is an argument about money in politics that he has made since his independent run. He names reducing the influence of special interests as one of his three key campaign messages, and his campaign describes itself as powered by everyday citizens rather than special interests. Nothing of his that could be read here names an organization of any kind.

A recording of a September campaign address, and his campaign's accounts on Facebook, Instagram and X, could not be read here, and two radio interviews in which the candidates in this race were put through the same set of topics are audio that was not listened to. All of those addresses are on his research page so that anyone who can open them may look. You are better placed to change this than we are. Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-09-18 unless the entry says otherwise. His campaign site was read in full, every page of it plus the printable platform; so were both of the guides that carry material from his campaign, three of his profiles on a fourth guide, his campaign's separate publication about the Senate race, and an archived copy of the campaign site he ran in 2024. U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel

• Nothing located, at any date. No statement by him about arms transfers, weapons shipments, Foreign Military Financing, the memorandum of understanding, security assistance, a dollar figure, a condition on aid, or any bill or amendment on those subjects appears on his campaign site, in his printable platform, in his Ballotpedia questionnaire answers, in his campaign's issue statements on BallotReady, in his campaign's published statements, in his campaign's own publication about the Senate race, in the voter guides that cover this primary, or in any news report about his campaign read for this card.
• [Position, read 2026-09-18] The closest thing in his own platform is the eighth point of its national security section, headed "Stand with Our Allies. Stand Up to Our Adversaries." It reads in full: "America must lead with strength, clarity, and resolve. I support policies that strengthen our alliances, deter aggression, protect critical infrastructure, defend our supply chains, and counter emerging threats from hostile nations and terrorist organizations." No country is named in it. The same section's first point is about funding military readiness, modernizing the armed forces, next-generation defense technologies, cybersecurity and missile defense, recruiting and retention; it is about the United States' own forces and names no foreign recipient. The platform's guiding principles ask of every bill, "Does it strengthen national security and America's leadership abroad?" The one country named anywhere in the 8,900-word platform is Mexico, in the border section.

U.S. aid to Palestinians

• Nothing located, at any date. Neither the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, nor Gaza humanitarian funding, nor the aid pipeline appears anywhere in his published material. The only foreign-aid material of any kind that could be found is in his campaign's publication about the Senate race, which records the sitting senator's opposition to workforce reductions at the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development and answers it with a general argument that those agencies "must justify their spending and eliminate redundancy". No country and no program is named.

Characterization of the conflict

• Nothing located, at any date. He has not been found using the words genocide, apartheid, self-defense or terrorism about the war in Gaza, and nothing was found from him on Palestinian statehood, a two-state framework or territorial boundaries. The words Israel, Gaza, Palestinian, Hamas and Middle East occur zero times across the whole of his 2026 campaign site, his printable platform, his campaign's publication about the Senate race, his Ballotpedia questionnaire answers, his BallotReady issue statements, and an archived copy of his 2024 campaign site.

Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying

• Nothing confirmed, at any date. Nothing that could be read here has him naming the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, any other advocacy organization on this subject, or money connected to any of them.
• [Position, submitted 2026-08-13] The general theme this would belong to is his own and long-standing. The third of the three key messages in his Ballotpedia questionnaire is headed Accountability and Reform in Washington and reads in part: "We must reduce the influence of special interests, demand transparency, and hold elected officials and government agencies accountable for how they spend taxpayers’ money." It names no organization.
• [Position, 2026-06-01] The boilerplate at the foot of his campaign's press statements says he is "Powered by everyday citizens rather than special interests". It names no organization either.
• [Position, read 2026-09-18, from a 2024 snapshot] The 2024 campaign site he ran as an independent gave a whole page to the subject, headed "Stop the Corruption of America's Government: Never Again Donate to a Political Campaign!" It opens with his own line, "Democracy thrives when the voices of the people are heard, free from the influence of money. Democracy should be about the power of ideas, not the depth of pockets", and argues that American government is "bought and paid for by wealthy donors, business, and special interests" through super PACs and dark money. It cites federal election spending totals for 2020 and 2022 and quotes seven fundraising appeals without attributing them. It names no organization anywhere, and nothing in it is about a foreign government. • Reported but not confirmed, and therefore carried nowhere on the card. Our research reported two items from his campaign's Facebook page and from a video of a campaign address, both dated late August or early September 2026: a one-word answer of "Nope" to a person who asked whether he takes donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, and a sentence in a live address listing that organization among the donors he says he refuses, alongside banks, technology and the defense industry. Neither could be confirmed here. The Facebook page and the post both refuse to open; the video's page opens but the recording itself needs a signed-in viewer, and the page carries no date that could be read. Nothing of either wording is published on this card. The addresses are in the list at the foot of this page so that anyone who can open them may check. Two things are worth a reader's attention if they are confirmed: an answer to a question about donations is not a position on what the United States sends, which is the question this site asks; and the second item is a list of industries, which is the shape his money argument has always taken.
• Also worth recording: the video's own page describes the event as a live address from Wilmington delivered as early voting opened, published by the Northern New Castle Republican Party rather than by his campaign. Our research placed it on his campaign's own page.

Safety and antisemitism (context, not an answer to what America sends)

• Nothing located, at any date. Nothing in his published material addresses antisemitism or the safety of any religious community.
• A namesake warning for anyone re-checking this record. A British politician of the same name chairs the Jewish Labour Movement and sits in the House of Lords, and searches on "Mike Katz" and Israel return his interviews first. He is a different person and nothing of his is used here. The Delaware candidate is the pediatric anesthesiologist who sat in the Delaware State Senate for District 4 from 2009 to 2013; every source used on this card was checked against that chain.

What the campaign site and his own pages say

• [Undated; read 2026-09-18] His campaign site was read in full: the home page, Meet Mike, Platform, Record, News and its one press release, Endorsements, Fact Check, Videos, Vote, Retire Coons, Literature, Updates and its four posts, Get Involved and Contact. The same site is served at katz2026.com. A search of all of it for israel, gaza, palestin, antisemit, jewish, hamas, zionis, aipac, foreign aid, foreign policy, military aid, middle east, ukraine and iran returns nothing of any kind.
• [Undated; read 2026-09-18] The platform has eleven sections: Economy and Cost of Living; Healthcare; Protecting Delaware Jobs and Keeping Business Here; Education; Military, Veterans and National Security; Law and Order, Constitution, and Police; Ending the Weaponization of Government; Border Security and National Sovereignty; Voter Integrity; Defending the Second Amendment; and Protecting Women's Sports. The printable version at https://drmikekatz.com/katz-platform.pdf runs to about 8,900 words and was searched the same way, with the same result. The military section is about readiness, the Department of Veterans Affairs, a new advanced-care facility for Kent and Sussex counties, post-traumatic stress and veteran suicide, military families, the National Guard and Reserve, and veteran housing and employment; the three bills it names are the Major Richard Star Act, the Veteran Caregiver Reeducation, Reemployment, and Retirement Act and the Love Lives On Act, all of them about veterans' benefits.
• [Position, submitted 2026-08-13; read 2026-09-18] Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey. The page's own note reads "Information submitted to Ballotpedia through the Candidate Connection survey on August 13, 2026", and he answered every question on the form at length, from his three key messages to his first job. Two answers come near this subject without reaching it. Asked what he sees as the country's greatest challenges over the next decade, he wrote: "We must secure our borders, maintain a strong national defense, address emerging threats from foreign adversaries, and ensure America remains a global leader in technology, innovation, and advanced manufacturing." Asked what makes the Senate unique, he wrote that its constitutional responsibilities "extend well beyond legislation" and that it "provides advice and consent on presidential appointments, federal judges, and treaties; conducts oversight of the executive branch; and plays a critical role in matters of national security." No country, no aid and no weapon is named in either. He did not complete the same survey in 2024. The questionnaire test is met here in his favor: he used the whole range of the form, so the silence on this subject is his own and not a wall of blanks, though no question on the form asks about it.
• [Undated; read 2026-09-18] BallotReady carries his campaign's issue stances under eleven headings: Civil Rights, Criminal Justice and Public Safety, Defense and Veterans, Economy, Education, Government Reform, Healthcare, Immigration, Social Services, Taxes and Budget, and Wages and Job Benefits. The three under Defense and Veterans are the veterans' healthcare, veterans' benefits and military strength planks from his platform. None of the stances is about foreign policy.
• [Position, read 2026-09-18; the page dates itself Sunday, May 10, 2026] His campaign publishes a separate site about the race at delawarecongress.com, headed Delaware Congress Watch and footed "A resource from Dr. Mike Katz for U.S. Senate — Delaware 2026" with the campaign's own paid-for line. It tracks what the sitting senator is doing in Washington item by item and answers each with a paragraph headed Dr. Katz's Position, some of them in his own voice and some written about him. Its items include a war powers resolution on Iran, the defense budget hearings, military construction at Dover Air Force Base, State Department and aid agency staffing, homeland security funding, an elections bill and a race snapshot. Israel, Gaza and Palestinians occur zero times in the whole of it. The address is printed here rather than linked because the page asks a reader for an access code.
• [Position, 2026-09-15] The campaign's one current press release, Dr. Mike Katz Wins Republican Primary for U.S. Senate, is about the affordability of housing, groceries, healthcare and energy, the national debt, and the November election. Three earlier statements that have since come off the site were read from archived copies: a June 1, 2026 response to the senator's appearance on a Sunday news program, about President Biden's health and about accountability; a statement on election security and declassified intelligence about foreign access to voter records, which names the People's Republic of China; and a candidate registration notice. None of the three is in scope.
• [Position, read 2026-09-18, from 2024 snapshots] The campaign site he ran in 2024 as the Independent Party of Delaware's nominee is no longer served at its old addresses and was read in the Internet Archive. Its issues page set out seven subjects: economy, jobs and cost of living; healthcare; veterans; first responders; education; homeownership; and energy and environment. There is no foreign policy section and no mention of any foreign government. Its other pages were about the two-party system, term limits, a multipartisan pledge and the advanced-care veterans facility.

The race

• [Read 2026-09-18] Ballotpedia's page for him records that he defeated John Shulli in the Republican primary of September 15, 2026 by 29,754 votes to 8,727, 77.3 percent to 22.7 percent, and that "Incumbent Chris Coons (D), Michael Katz (R), Dexter Bland (Independent), and Travis Stevens (Unaffiliated) are running in the general election for U.S. Senate Delaware on November 3, 2026", Stevens as a write-in. The same page records the 2024 result, in which Lisa Blunt Rochester won with 56.6 percent and Katz, running as the Independent Party of Delaware's nominee, took 19,555 votes and 3.9 percent; and his Delaware State Senate record, won in 2008 by 1.3 points and lost in 2012 to Gregory Lavelle. He has signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge in both federal races. Chris Coons's own record is on his own card and is not narrated here.
• [Position, 2026-08-26] WHYY's guide to the Republican primary, by Sarah Mueller, put the same questions to both Republican candidates. Katz gave his three biggest priorities as lowering the cost of living, fixing America's health care system and making the federal government more fiscally responsible, and his quoted answers are about his own experience and about access to doctors and specialists in Kent and Sussex counties. The guide asks nothing about foreign policy, and he raised none.
• [Position, 2026-09-15] WHYY's report of the result, also by Sarah Mueller, carries no statement from him on any subject in scope.
• [Position, 2026-09-15] The Jewish Telegraphic Agency covered this race on primary day, in a report by Sharon Udasin carried also by the Forward, and its subject is the senator's record and his Democratic challengers. Everything it says about the Republican nominee is this: "In the November general election, Coons will be up against Republican Mike Katz, a physician and former state senator." A publication covering this race for its Israel content had nothing of his to report.
• [Undated; read 2026-09-18] iVoterGuide holds three profiles for him: the 2024 general election at https://ivoterguide.com/candidate/86889/race/20897/election/1258 , the 2026 Republican primary at https://ivoterguide.com/candidate/86889/race/30004/election/1450 , and the 2026 general election at https://ivoterguide.com/candidate/86889/race/34162/election/1496 . Both questionnaires include the question "Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?" and both record "Did not answer" against it. That is not evidence of anything: he answered nothing at all on either form, 36 questions in 2024 and 32 in 2026, and the guide fills the rest of both pages from public records. The 2026 general profile carries a biography section and no questionnaire.
• [Position, 2026-09-16] Delaware Public Media's report of the primary and a Delaware LIVE piece on the two Republican federal nominees both set out his affordability, healthcare, public safety and election-law themes. Neither reaches foreign policy.
• [Read 2026-09-18] Wikipedia's article on him records the state Senate years, a short-lived bid for the 2019 Democratic presidential nomination centered on civil rights, universal healthcare, education, the workforce and climate, his acceptance of the Independent Party of Delaware's nomination at its July 1, 2023 convention and his service as that party's state chair from 2023 to 2026, and his acceptance of the Republican State Committee of Delaware's nomination at its April 25, 2026 convention in Dover. Nothing on this card rests on it.

Both are audio with no transcript, and neither was listened to. The station says of the series that "Candidates in each race are being asked about the same set of topics to allow you to get to know them and compare them", so these are the two recordings most likely to change this card, and the questions themselves are unknown.

Not on the card, and why

• The sentence "He supports material assistance to Israel, but opposes sending American troops to the region." It is not his. It sits under John Whalen's own heading in WHYY's August 26, 2026 piece on Delaware's Republican candidates for the U.S. House, by Johnny Perez-Gonzalez, which is about a different office and does not mention Katz at all. Our research flagged the risk of this being hung on him, and reading the article settles it.
• The reported answer about donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the reported line in his campaign address. Neither could be confirmed here, so neither is quoted or relied on. Both are described above with their addresses.
• His platform's military, veterans and national security material, and the three veterans' bills it names. Real positions, and about the United States' own forces and its veterans rather than about what America sends to any government.
• The whole of his platform and his questionnaire answers on the cost of living, energy, housing, healthcare, prescription costs, prevention, jobs, manufacturing, tariffs, education, policing, the courts, the regulatory state, the border, fentanyl, elections, firearms, term limits and women's sports. Out of scope, and listed above so the absence can be checked.
• His campaign's argument about special interests and campaign money, in both the 2024 and 2026 versions. A statement about who funds a campaign is not a position on weapons or funding for any government. It is recorded above as what it is.
