But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

Democrat · U.S. House, Florida District 2

How this mark works

We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

See a dash? Ask the candidate where they stand, then send us their answer and we'll review it and update the mark. Or volunteer to help review candidates.

No recorded votes on the bills we track. We found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

Nothing located as of September 2026 has Green taking a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians. She worked a decade for a USAID partner and said in April 2026 that dismantling the agency “was dangerous for Americans”.

Deep Dive

Amanda Marie Green is the Democratic nominee in Florida's 2nd District, the North Florida seat that runs from Panama City east past Tallahassee. She studied international affairs and emergency management at Florida State and spent a decade as an operations director for a leading partner of the U.S. Agency for International Development, working on famine early-warning systems and on getting HIV and malaria medicines to remote places. She won a four-candidate Democratic primary on August 18, 2026 with 33.4 percent of the vote and faces Austin Rogers on November 3 for the seat Neal Dunn is leaving after five terms.

This is an empty record on these questions rather than a thin one. Her campaign platform sets out eight priorities, from costs and agriculture through healthcare, democracy, seniors, education, land and rural communities, and not one of them is about foreign policy. The four statements her campaign has published are about a shooting at Florida State, Neal Dunn's retirement, the January 6 attack on the Capitol and health insurance costs. She answered every question on Ballotpedia's candidate survey, submitted on May 11, 2026, at length, and none of her answers reaches Israel, Gaza, foreign military aid or antisemitism. The account her campaign links to on Bluesky carries 469 posts going back to October 2025, and the words Israel, Gaza, Palestinian, Hamas, antisemitism and AIPAC appear in none of them. An empty record carries no implication either way.

Foreign aid is the ground she does speak on. At a Gulf County Democratic Party meet-and-greet on April 13, 2026 she described being recruited by a top USAID partner and said she “would still be doing that today if the Trump administration hadn’t decided to dismantle what was arguably our best tool for building allies”; of that decision she said it “was dangerous for Americans” and would hurt Florida farmers whose produce is used to intervene in famine. She has also written against the war with Iran on more than one occasion, and told the same meet-and-greet that going to war with Iran is not productive and that the United States needs a swift exit. None of it reaches U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or U.S. aid to Palestinians, and the rest of it is on her research page.

Two long interviews with her were not listened to for this card, one recorded on April 15, 2026 and one on March 12, 2026. Both are audio and video; their published summaries list her USAID work, hunger, rural healthcare and maternal health, and neither summary mentions this subject. Their addresses are on the research page for anyone who wants to hear them.

You are better placed to close this than we are. Ask Green directly, or at a candidate forum, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in her own words, which is worth more than anything we could write about her.

Research log

The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.

Our research for this card began with a search run on 2026-09-07, and every page below was opened and read the same day unless the entry says otherwise. Her whole campaign site was read, her Ballotpedia survey was read in full, and the account her campaign links to on Bluesky was read back to its first post. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. She has never held office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks are hers, and no funding from the committees this site tracks is recorded on this record.

U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel

  • Nothing located, at any date. No statement by her about arms transfers, weapons shipments, Foreign Military Financing, security assistance or any bill on those subjects was found on her campaign site, in her Ballotpedia survey, in 469 posts on the account her campaign links to on Bluesky, or in any of the reports read for this card.

U.S. aid to Palestinians

  • Nothing located, at any date. Neither her campaign site nor any coverage read mentions Gaza humanitarian funding, UNRWA or the aid pipeline.
  • [Position, 2026-04-13] The nearest thing to it is her own field. At a Gulf County Democratic Party meet-and-greet in Port St. Joe on April 13, 2026, reported by The Apalachicola Times on April 21, she described being recruited by a top partner of the U.S. Agency for International Development, an agency the report describes as responsible for delivering life saving food and medicine to the world's most vulnerable communities, and said: “And I would still be doing that today if the Trump administration hadn’t decided to dismantle what was arguably our best tool for building allies.” Of that decision she said it “was dangerous for Americans. This would hurt Florida farmers whose produce we use to intervene in famine. This would hurt Americans traveling overseas and folks who are interacting with new immigrants in this country.” And: “USAID was ensuring that there was a positive image of the American people, and to allege that there was fraud, waste and abuse without any evidence, was dangerous.” She names no country and no conflict.
  • [Position, read 2026-09-07] The same ground on her own site. Her about page says she supported “programs to help stop crises before they reach our borders and keep the American people safe at home” and specialized in cutting waste while contracting with the U.S. government. Her Ballotpedia survey answer says she began her career with a leading USAID partner and has “worked as an operations director and pricing expert supporting global health programs, famine monitoring systems, and critical efforts in Ukraine”. Neither names Israel, Gaza or the Palestinians.

Characterization of the conflict

  • Nothing located, at any date. No statement by her was found about the war in Gaza, about the October 7 attacks, about Palestinian statehood or a two-state framework, or using the words genocide, apartheid, self-defense or terrorism about any of it.

Related rhetoric and lobbying

  • Nothing located, at any date. No statement by her was found about pro-Israel lobbying organizations, about political money connected to them, or about foreign agent registration.
  • [Read 2026-09-07] Ballotpedia lists her endorsements. Alongside the Florida Education Association, the Florida AFL-CIO and former Representative Allen Boyd, eight of them are voting groups on Sway, an app on which members build and share lists of candidates they recommend, including ones named “Friends of USAID” and “Mamdanification”. These are other people's recommendations of her, not statements by her, and no position of hers is read from any of them.

Safety and antisemitism

  • Nothing located, at any date. Her campaign site, her four published statements and her Ballotpedia survey do not mention antisemitism, and neither do the 469 posts read on Bluesky.

What she has said about war and foreign policy

  • [Position, 2026-04-13] At the Gulf County meet-and-greet, reported by The Apalachicola Times: “I can’t promise you that I will pull us out of Iran.” And: “I can promise you that as someone who has worked in the Middle East and North Africa, I will use the position as representative to ensure that my colleagues understand that going to war with Iran is not productive and that we need to have a swift exit at this point.”
  • [Position, 2026-03-01 to 2026-04-09] Six posts on the account her campaign links to on Bluesky are about the war with Iran and its costs, and none of them mentions Israel, Gaza or the Palestinians: March 1, March 1, March 12, March 22, April 5 and April 9, the last of which reads: “Right now, we’re burning through around $1 billion per day on an unwanted, illegal war in Iran. That’s tens of billions of American taxpayer dollars...and the meter is still running.”

What her campaign site does say

  • [Read 2026-09-07] Her priorities page carries eight headings, each with several paragraphs: lower costs for North Florida families; strengthen agriculture and make food affordable; cut the cost of healthcare; stop corruption and protect our democracy; protect our promises to seniors and veterans; invest in education, workers and opportunity; protect North Florida's land, water and way of life; and build stronger rural communities. The home page, the about page, the endorsements page and the media and statements page were read as well. Across all of them the words israel, gaza, palestinian, antisemitism, jewish, hamas, foreign aid, weapons and military aid do not appear once.
  • [Read 2026-09-07] The statements her campaign has published are four: the first anniversary of the shooting at Florida State University, Neal Dunn's retirement announcement on January 13, 2026, the fifth anniversary of the January 6 attack on the Capitol, and a December 17, 2025 statement on health insurance costs in the district. Two op-eds by her are listed, one in the Tallahassee Democrat on November 10, 2025 and one in 2022 about Roe v. Wade. Neither reaches this subject.

The race

Not read for this card

  • [Position, 2026-04-15] An interview with her on the podcast Dr. Cindy Speaks, recorded on April 15, 2026 and running about 35 minutes. The podcast page carries the episode's own summary and chapter list: her background, why she is running, the USAID cuts, district needs, hunger, rural healthcare, maternal health, constituent services, the cost of living, and foreign bots on social media. Israel and Gaza appear nowhere in it, though they do appear in the same show's chapter list for a different Florida candidate. The audio was not listened to here. It is also published as video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZ3FNwKcSz0 .
  • [Position, 2026-03-12] A recorded conversation with her published on March 18, 2026 by The Grassroots Connector, at https://grassrootsconnector.substack.com/p/conversation-with-amanda-marie-green . The page carries a short written summary and the video itself; the video was not watched here and the page offers no transcript.

Not on the card, and why

  • The words of her statements about the war with Iran, on Bluesky and at the April 2026 meet-and-greet. They are quoted above. The question this site asks is about U.S. weapons and money for the government of Israel, and remarks about Iran are not an answer to it, so the card says the statements exist and what they are about and leaves the text here.
  • Anything read into her USAID record about Israel, Gaza or the Palestinians. Her own words about the agency are quoted above and one of them is on the card, because foreign aid is the nearest thing in her record to half of the question. She does not connect it to the Palestinians, and neither does this card.
  • The affordability, agriculture, healthcare, democracy, seniors, education, environment and rural material on her campaign site and in her survey. Out of scope, and listed above so the absence is checkable.
  • Her endorsements, including the eight Sway voting groups, which are other people's recommendations rather than statements by her.
  • An article about Keith Gross, a Republican candidate in the same district's primary, which our research returned among her sources. It is about another person.
  • A Facebook post by Senator Cory Booker about gas prices, which our research returned among her sources. It is not hers, and the address does not open.
