But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

Te Mayonna Brown

Republican · U.S. House, Florida District 24
?
How this mark works

We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

See a dash? Ask the candidate where they stand, then send us their answer and we'll review it and update the mark. Or volunteer to help review candidates.

Two reviewers, reading the public record as a whole, agree: In a September 2026 voter-guide questionnaire she calls the U.S. relationship with Israel "important because the scripture tells us that we have a covenant with Israel" and says "Stop sending US money to foreign countries", which points both ways. Reviewed by hand on 2026-10-09. This candidate has no recorded tracked floor votes.

Brown answered a voter guide as a candidate in another state. Asked about the United States relationship with Israel, she said “the scripture tells us that we have a covenant with Israel”. Asked how to cut waste, she wrote “Stop sending US money to foreign countries”, naming no country.

Deep Dive

Te Mayonna Brown is the Republican nominee in Florida's 24th District, a heavily Democratic seat running from northern Miami-Dade into southern Broward. She is a real estate developer, a former teacher and a homeschooling mother, and she describes herself on her own site as “a pro-MAGA, pro-Constitution conservative”. Florida's Division of Elections records her as qualified for the ballot on June 12, 2026, and no other Republican filed, so the August 18 primary was cancelled and she advanced unopposed. She faces Oliver Gilbert III, Andy Daro and a write-in candidate on November 3.

What she has said on this subject she said in a different race. Earlier this year she ran in the Republican primary for Illinois's 11th District under the name Tedora Brown and came fourth on March 17, 2026 with 5.7 percent. iVoterGuide, a voter guide published by AFA Action, keeps the Illinois and Florida candidacies on a single profile for the same person, and it prints the questionnaire she filled in for the Illinois race. The Bulwark reported on September 1, 2026 that she denied being that candidate and that her campaign manager then confirmed she is. Her Illinois biography on the guide lists the schools and companies her Florida campaign and her own accounts also carry, so the two records are one record.

On that form, the national security section asked whether the United States relationship with Israel is important and why. Her answer, in full, was “The United States relationship with Israel is important because the scripture tells us that we have a covenant with Israel and God word will not be returned void. Ezekiel 37:20 -22 one nation”. Asked separately for her top priorities to eliminate government waste, she gave four, and the third was “Stop sending US money to foreign countries”; it names no country and no programme. On the same page she chose, out of four options on foreign policy, “C) The United States has become too involved in others’ policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger”. She has not said what those three answers mean together for weapons or money going to the government of Israel, and the guide did not ask.

Nothing in her Florida campaign takes it further. Her issues page sets out seven priorities and none of them mentions Israel, Gaza, Palestinians, foreign aid or arms transfers; the one weapons pledge on it is to end the flow of guns from South Florida to Haiti. Ballotpedia's page for her Florida run carries no candidate questionnaire. She was on the stage at a candidate forum in the district on June 30, 2026 where continued funding for the government of Israel was put to the field as a yes-or-no question, and the one published account of that evening does not record her answer. A suburban Chicago newspaper is reported to have printed a further answer from her on Israel and the Palestinians in February 2026; that page would not open here, so nothing from it is on this card, and both items are set out on her research page. You are better placed to close the gap than we are. Ask Brown directly what she would do about American weapons and money for the government of Israel, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in her own words.

Research log

The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.

Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-09-08 unless the entry says otherwise. Her whole Florida campaign site was read, both of her Ballotpedia pages, both of her profiles on iVoterGuide, the state's own candidate record, and the September 2026 reporting on her identity. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. She has held no office, so there are no recorded votes on this record, and no funding from the committees this site tracks is recorded on it.

Who this is, and why an Illinois questionnaire is on a Florida card

  • [Undated; read 2026-09-08] Florida's Division of Elections records Te Mayonna Brown, Republican, United States Representative District 24, at 20200 W. Dixie Hwy, Suite 902, Aventura, filed 05/13/2026 and qualified 06/12/2026 by paying the qualifying fee. Her own site opens “Te Mayonna Brown is the Republican nominee for Florida’s 24th Congressional District.”
  • [Undated; read 2026-09-08] iVoterGuide holds one candidate record for her covering two races. The Florida page is headed “Te Mayonna Brown — U.S. Representative, District 11 (Illinois Republican Primary | March 17, 2026)” and carries no questionnaire; the Illinois page under the same record number is headed “Tedora Brown — U.S. Rep., Dist. 24 (Florida General | November 3, 2026)” and carries the questionnaire quoted below. The guide made that link itself; this card did not.
  • [Position, 2026-09-01] The Bulwark, in a piece by Andrew Egger: “When I reached her by phone yesterday, she flatly insisted — despite clear photographic, social-media, and campaign-records evidence to the contrary — that she, Te Mayonna Brown, wasn’t the Tedora M. Brown who ran for Congress in Illinois”. The same piece: “Brown’s campaign manager, Karin Dennis, gave me a call literally minutes before we sent this newsletter. Unlike Brown, Dennis acknowledged that this was, indeed, the same person.” It records that her Illinois campaign site wrote her name out as “Te Dora Mayonna Brown” and her Florida site gives it as “Te Mayonna Brown”, and that her X account handle points to a company named in her Illinois biography.
  • [Undated; read 2026-09-08] The Illinois profile's biography lists Harold Washington College and Roosevelt University, and the companies Scottland LLC, Tedora M. Brown Enterprises Ltd., Women in Construction Corporation of Illinois, Little Shepherds Academy and Little Shepherds Beginners. Local 10, reporting the Florida general election field on August 19, 2026, describes the Florida candidate as “a businesswoman born in Chicago”. Taken with the guide's own single record and the campaign manager's confirmation, the identity is treated here as settled.

U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel

  • Nothing located from her on weapons, at any date. No statement by her about an arms transfer, a weapons shipment, Foreign Military Financing, the memorandum of understanding, a dollar figure, a condition on aid, or any bill or amendment on those subjects was found on her Florida campaign site, on either Ballotpedia page, or on either iVoterGuide profile.
  • [Position; undated page read 2026-09-08, answered for the Illinois primary of March 17, 2026] On the iVoterGuide questionnaire, under the heading “ECONOMY”, the question “List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.” Her whole answer: “1. Stop finding education. 2. Stop funding, illegal immigration. 3. Stop sending US money to foreign countries. 4. Balance the budget”. The spelling and punctuation are hers. No country and no programme is named in it.
  • [Position; undated page read 2026-09-08, answered for the Illinois primary of March 17, 2026] Under “NATIONAL SECURITY”, the question “With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.” Her answer: “C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger”.
  • [Position, 2026-06-30] The Miami-Dade NAACP and Florida Memorial University held a forum for the seven candidates in this race on June 30, 2026, and Brown was on the stage as the only Republican. The one published account of it, by Denzel D. Burnside III in Hy-Lo News, lists “keep funding Israel” among ten yes-or-no questions in the rapid-fire round and reports: “On continued military aid to Israel, Meek was the lone ‘no,’ the most distinctive single stance any Democrat took all night.” It does not record Brown's answer, and it does not say whether “lone” covers all seven candidates on stage or only the six Democrats, so no answer is attributed to her here. The same piece describes her as “The lone Republican, a self-described ‘pro-MAGA, pro-Constitution conservative’”, and records her answers on the minimum wage, education standards and the property-tax amendment. The event livestream was not watched.

U.S. aid to Palestinians

  • Nothing located, at any date. Gaza humanitarian funding, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency and the aid pipeline appear nowhere in anything of hers that was read.

Characterization of the conflict

  • Nothing located that was verified. Our research reported that a Daily Herald candidate questionnaire published on February 27, 2026 asked her, as an Illinois candidate, “What is your vision for a solution to conflicts involving Israel and the Palestinians? What should the United States be doing to advance this position?” and that she answered “My vision for solution is peace in Israel and the Palestinians. The United States should be integrating peace”. That page, at https://www.dailyherald.com/20260227/us-congress-politics/tedora-brown-2026-candidate-for-11th-congressional-district/ , would not open here by any means available, and the Internet Archive holds no copy of it. The wording above is therefore reported and not confirmed: it is recorded here so that a reader knows it exists, it is not on the card, and it is not published as one of the card's quotations. Anyone who can open that address can settle it.
  • Nothing else located from her, at any date, on the words genocide, apartheid, self-defense or terrorism as applied to the war in Gaza, on Palestinian statehood, on a two-state framework, or on territorial boundaries.

Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying

  • [Position; undated page read 2026-09-08, answered for the Illinois primary of March 17, 2026] Under “NATIONAL SECURITY”, the question “Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?” Her whole answer: “The United States relationship with Israel is important because the scripture tells us that we have a covenant with Israel and God word will not be returned void. Ezekiel 37:20 -22 one nation”. The spelling is hers.
  • Nothing located, at any date, on pro-Israel lobbying organizations, on political money connected to them, or on foreign agent registration. Her Florida campaign has raised little: Ballotpedia records $313,318 in contributions against $14,693 in expenditures for the Florida race, and the September 2026 reporting says most of that is money she lent her own campaign.
  • Our research cited two positions pages on the Local Candidates guide for her platform. That host has never opened for this project and did not open now, so nothing is drawn from it.

Safety and antisemitism (context, not an answer to what America sends)

  • Nothing located, at any date. She has not been found addressing antisemitism or the security of Jewish communities. Her Florida platform's nearest heading is “Defend Our Traditional Values”, which reads: “Faith, family, and freedom are the foundation of America. Religious liberty, parental rights, the Second Amendment, and the Constitution itself are under attack — and they’re worth fighting for.” It names no community.
  • [Position; undated page read 2026-09-08] On the same iVoterGuide form she answered “Strongly Agree” to “Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.” and, asked to describe her spiritual beliefs, wrote that when seeking answers she goes “directly to the Bible”.

The race, and what her Florida campaign says

  • [Undated; read 2026-09-08] Her campaign site has five content pages: a home page, a page about her, an issues page, an agenda page and a career page. The issues page carries seven priorities: making housing affordable, school choice, reforming the H-1B visa programme, keeping promises to veterans, secure borders and a legal immigration system, defending traditional values, and a section on Haitian temporary protected status. The words Israel, Gaza, Palestinian, antisemitism, foreign aid and arms appear nowhere on any page of it. The one sentence about a weapons flow is about a different country: “I will work to end the South Florida weapons pipeline to Port-Au-Prince, and back the effort to rebuild, because nobody wants a stable Haiti more than those forced to leave it.” The site's news and events sections are empty placeholders.
  • [Undated; read 2026-09-08] Her Florida Ballotpedia page: “Te Brown has not yet completed Ballotpedia's 2026 Candidate Connection survey.” The same page records that “The Republican primary scheduled for August 18, 2026, was canceled. Te Brown (R) advanced from the Republican primary for U.S. House Florida District 24 without appearing on the ballot”, and the general election field: “Oliver Gilbert (D), Te Brown (R), Andy Daro (No Party Affiliation), and Patricia Gonzalez (No Party Affiliation) are running in the general election for U.S. House Florida District 24 on November 3, 2026”, with Gonzalez a write-in.
  • [Position, 2026-02-26] Her Illinois Ballotpedia page carries the Candidate Connection survey she did complete, for the Illinois race. Its three key messages are education, illegal immigration, and seniors, veterans and vulnerable persons. Asked what areas of public policy she is personally passionate about, she answered “Education”. Asked who had endorsed her, she answered “Chicago Flips Red”. Her Illinois campaign website text, quoted on the same page and dated February 26, 2026, repeats those three headings. Nothing in any of it mentions Israel, Gaza, foreign aid or foreign policy, and the form's open questions gave her the room to raise them.
  • [Undated; read 2026-09-08] BallotReady's profile for her lists the Florida candidacy and her campaign site and carries no positions.

Places that were not read, so nothing is claimed from them

  • Her campaign's accounts: www.instagram.com/tebrownforflorida/ , x.com/TeBrownForFL , and the Facebook page linked from her site at www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61591283250296 . None was read here. The September 2026 reporting also names a personal Instagram account, missbrownalways, and an X account, TeamLSAcademy.
  • The livestream of the June 30, 2026 forum.

Not on the card, and why

  • The Daily Herald answer on Israel and the Palestinians. The page would not open, so it was never read at its own address; it is set out above with its address so a reader may try it.
  • The criminal case reported against her in Illinois and the dispute about her identity that goes with it. The dispute is on this page because it is the reason an Illinois questionnaire can be read as hers; the case itself is not about U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, and this site does not report it.
  • The forum's yes-or-no question on continued funding for Israel. She was on the stage when it was put, but the only published account records one candidate's answer and not hers, so nothing is attributed to her.
  • The housing, school choice, visa, veterans, immigration, traditional values and Haitian protected status material on her Florida site, and the education, immigration and seniors material in her Illinois survey. Out of scope, and listed above so the absence is checkable.
  • The pledge to end the flow of weapons from South Florida to Port-au-Prince. It is a statement about weapons, and it is about Haiti.
  • Oliver Gilbert's record and the answers her Illinois primary rivals gave. Another candidate's words belong on that candidate's own card.
