How this mark works

We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. DeLancy is the Democratic candidate for Georgia's 10th District, a nurse, cancer survivor and retired Army colonel.

Her published positions were read in full on 12 August 2026: healthcare, cost of living and water, safety and policing, and immigration. There is no foreign-policy section and no mention of Israel or Gaza.

A detailed statement on conditioning aid was offered in her name. We are not publishing it as hers. A near-identical statement was offered for a different Georgia candidate, dated seven months apart, and both trace to posts in the same Facebook group that we could not open. One of the two attributions is likely wrong, or both are reproducing a shared questionnaire answer. The research page sets out the overlap.

  • ⚠⚠ [Attributed, 2026-06-21, NOT VERIFIED] The research turned up: the U.S. must condition aid on Israel abiding by international law and the rules of war, and "Before we provide additional support for Israel – support that contributes to the humanitarian crisis facing innocent Palestinians in Gaza – there should be a ceasefire, including the release of hostages, long enough to provide food, shelter and healthcare to civilians," and that if further action against Hamas is necessary "it must be carried out surgically." Source: a post in a Facebook group, not readable.
  • ⚠⚠ **THE DUPLICATION, which is why this is not on the card.** The same research attributes a near-identical statement to **Kelly Esti** (Georgia's 8th District), dated 2025-11-09: "before the United States provides additional military or financial support for Israel, support she noted contributes to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, there must be a ceasefire accompanied by the release of hostages long enough to deliver food, shelter, and medical care to civilians," with future action "conducted surgically." **Two candidates, two districts, two dates, one statement.** Both trace to posts in the same Facebook group (`groups/httpscivicdinners.comusers15065`). Either one attribution is wrong, or both are reproducing a shared questionnaire or forum answer that neither authored. Not publishable as an original position for either without a reading of both posts.
