But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

How this mark works

We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

See a dash? Ask the candidate where they stand, then send us their answer and we'll review it and update the mark. Or volunteer to help review candidates.

No recorded votes on the bills we track. We found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

Nothing located as of September 2026 has Graham taking a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians. In a 2022 questionnaire he chose the answer that the U.S. "has become too involved in others' policies".

Deep Dive

David Graham, a lawyer from Overland Park, is the Libertarian nominee for the Senate in Kansas. He was the party's 2022 Senate nominee, against Jerry Moran, and his iVoterGuide profile lists him as Harper County Attorney in 2017 and 2018. Ballotpedia lists him as the state party's vice chair as of April 2024. The Johnson County Post found no active campaign website or social media accounts for this race, and he did not immediately respond to its request for campaign materials. The website the county election office listed for his 2022 race no longer opens.

The nearest thing to a position comes from that 2022 race. On iVoterGuide's 2022 questionnaire he chose the option that the United States "has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger", and added: "If the United States' sovereignty is in imminent danger, then the conflict is not foreign." On the same form he marked "Strongly Disagree" on a statement supporting the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement against Israel. Neither answer is about U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or about U.S. aid to Palestinians, and nothing located from this race addresses those questions. An empty record carries no implication either way.

You are better placed to change that than we are. Ask Graham directly, or at a candidate forum, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in his own words, which is worth more than anything we could write about him.

The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.

Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-09-25 unless the entry says otherwise. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Graham has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks is his, and no funding from the committees this site tracks is recorded on this record.

U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel

  • No position located, at any date, on U.S. weapons, arms sales or military funding for the government of Israel.
  • [Earlier record, 2022] The nearest material is a general answer on foreign policy. iVoterGuide's questionnaire for the November 8, 2022 general election asked: "With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely." His answer: "C, although I see little difference between options C and D. If the United States' sovereignty is in imminent danger, then the conflict is not foreign." It names no country.

U.S. aid to Palestinians

  • No position located, at any date, on U.S. aid to Palestinians, UNRWA or Gaza humanitarian funding.

Characterization of the conflict

  • [Earlier record, 2022] On the same iVoterGuide questionnaire he marked "Strongly Disagree" on the statement: "I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees." It is about a boycott campaign, not about what the United States sends.
  • Nothing else located characterizing the conflict.

Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying

  • No statement located on lobbying organizations or advocacy groups on this subject.

Safety and antisemitism

  • No statement located.
