But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check
Tia LeBrun
Independent · U.S. House, Louisiana District 3
–No Position Found
How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
No recorded votes on the bills we track. We found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
No readable statement from LeBrun since 2022 takes a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel; newer reported statements sit on pages that do not open. In a 2022 survey she declined to answer, saying she was "not yet versed well enough in foreign relations".

LeBrun is running with no party affiliation in Louisiana's 3rd District, a teacher and curriculum leader from Terrebonne Parish and a member of the United Houma Nation. She declared as a Democrat before switching to no party in 2026.
The one statement of hers that opens is a declination. In a candidate survey for her 2022 congressional run, for the Louisiana primary of November 8, 2022, offered the boycott, divestment and sanctions proposition, she chose not to answer and wrote: "I am not yet versed well enough in foreign relations to have a stance on this."
Since late 2025 she is reported to have said considerably more: a call for a ceasefire, criticism of the United States standing by while an ally violates international law, opposition to merging American and Israeli military efforts, and an attack on an opponent's donations from pro-Israel groups. Every one of those sits on a Facebook page that does not open, and two of the addresses are other people's pages, not hers. The addresses are all on this card's research page, so you can try them yourself. Her own campaign site and her completed 2026 survey say nothing on the subject.
So the readable record is a four-year-old declination, and the recent record cannot be verified. Ask LeBrun directly, or at a candidate forum, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in her own words.

U.S. military aid and weapons to Israel
[Earlier record, 2022 cycle; answer undated] Her candidate survey for the Louisiana primary of November 8, 2022, the 3rd District race. Read 2026-08-20 and again 2026-10-01. Against the proposition "I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees", her answer is "Choose not to answer", followed by: "I am not yet versed well enough in foreign relations to have a stance on this." The page carries no answer date. It sits on her profile for the November 8, 2022 race, so it was given in the 2022 cycle, before October 7, 2023, and is recorded here as earlier record. Her profile for the 2026 race carries no questionnaire.
[Reported 2025-12-02, carrier does not open] She is reported to have called for a ceasefire and said the United States "must not continue to stand by while our ally Israel violates international law and human rights". The address offered is a post inside a general discussion group whose name suggests another state's progressives, not her page, and it returns 400. Nothing is claimed from it.
[Reported 2026-08-16, carrier does not open] Her campaign page is reported to have posted criticism of proposals to merge United States and Israeli military efforts, arguing that funding foreign military efforts is not a Louisiana-first policy. The address offered is a numeric Facebook group post rather than her page. An opaque numeric carrier is treated as unread until its owner is resolved, and it could not be resolved because the host does not answer. Nothing is claimed from it.
U.S. aid to Palestinians
[Reported 2025-12-02, carrier does not open] She is reported to have said "a ceasefire is imperative" in Gaza and to have called for Palestinians to have "a home to return to, with self governance". Same discussion-group address as above. Nothing claimed.
Characterization of the conflict
[Reported 2025-07-13, carrier does not open] Her campaign page is reported to have shared a news report on settler violence in the West Bank, highlighting the line "Israeli officials rarely prosecute those accused of violence against Palestinians, and when they do, a very small percentage end in conviction". The address is her own campaign page and returns 400. The highlighted words are the news outlet's, not hers; a shared quotation would not be her characterization even if the page opened.
[Reported 2026-01-26, carrier does not open] She is reported to have written of a "callous disregard for humanity in Gaza that overwhelms the nature of the very real threat Hamas and Hezbollah have imposed", and to have said she opposed United States leaders' participation in "such destruction". The address offered is a state party page's photo post, with the material described as a comment beneath it. A comment thread under another organization's post is not a carrier that can establish attribution, and the host does not answer.
Related rhetoric and lobbying
[Reported 2026-01-26 and 2026-08-16, carriers do not open] She is reported to have referred to pushback over her "criticisms of AIPAC donations", and to have posted a graphic attacking an opponent for accepting donations from pro-Israel lobbying organizations. Same addresses as above, linked there. Nothing claimed.

Where else the absence was checked
[Consulted, read 2026-08-20] Her campaign site and its about page. Both opened and read in full; no mention of Israel, Gaza, Palestinians, foreign aid or foreign policy. This is the own-site check the standing rule requires before a card rests on unverifiability, and here it found nothing to promote.
[Consulted, read 2026-08-20] Her Ballotpedia profile, which carries candidate surveys she completed in 2026 and in an earlier cycle. Both were read in full. The 2026 submission covers insurance affordability, healthcare, education, personal freedom, artificial intelligence regulation and disaster management. Neither survey mentions Israel, Gaza, Palestinians or foreign policy.
⚠ Worth noting against the reported material: she engaged the 2026 form at length and foreign policy did not appear in it.
Qualified on Louisiana's certified list for the all-candidate November election in the 3rd District with no party affiliation, and a December runoff follows between the top two if nobody clears half the vote. Six candidates are on the ballot.
She has held no federal office, so there are no recorded votes on this card.
