R. Tyler MacAllister
Nothing located as of September 2026 has MacAllister taking a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians. His campaign platform runs to nine headings, every one of them local or domestic.
MacAllister is the Republican candidate in Massachusetts’ 9th District, which covers the South Shore, New Bedford and the South Coast, Cape Cod and the Islands. He is a commercial fisherman and charter boat captain who sat on the Mattapoisett Select Board until this year. He advanced from the Republican primary on September 1, 2026 and faces Representative Bill Keating on November 3.
This is an empty record on these questions rather than a thin one. He runs two campaign sites, and both set out his priorities at length: between them they name the cost of living, energy, taxes, fishing and the working waterfront, offshore wind and data centres, protecting the coastline, public safety, veterans and seniors, prescription drug costs, immigration enforcement, and replacing the Bourne and Sagamore bridges. Neither site uses the words Israel, Gaza, Palestinians, foreign aid or weapons anywhere. He has not filled in Ballotpedia’s candidate survey, and the local coverage of his campaign, from his announcement at a Marion Republican Town Committee meeting in June 2025 onward, is about fisheries, the bridges and the cost of living. An empty record carries no implication either way.
Two places worth a reader’s own look are linked on the research page: his campaign’s Facebook page, and the forty-minute hour he gave on WBZ NewsRadio’s NightSide on August 17, 2026, which exists only as audio. Neither could be read here, so neither is treated as saying anything on these questions.
You are better placed to change this than we are. Ask MacAllister directly, or at a candidate forum, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in his own words, which is worth more than anything we could write about him.
Research
Every page listed below was opened and read on 2026-09-07 unless the entry says otherwise. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. MacAllister has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks are his.
U.S. military aid and weapons to Israel
- Nothing located, at any date.
- [Position, read 2026-09-07] Campaign site one, macallister4congress.com: the Solutions page carries nine headings and their descriptions: cost of living; energy; taxes and bringing our dollars home; sustainable fishing and the working waterfront; our coastal way of life; offshore wind and data centers; being the district’s bridge to Washington; public safety; veterans and seniors. The About page, the Media page, the Events page and the Policies page were also read. None of them uses the words israel, gaza, palestinian, antisemitism, jewish, foreign aid, middle east, hamas, weapon, foreign policy, ukraine or iran.
- [Position, read 2026-09-07] Campaign site two, electtylermacallister.com, which the campaign also runs: the home page, the biography page, the district page and the issues page. The biography page lists six priorities: lowering the cost of living for working families and retirees; securing the border and enforcing immigration laws; reducing prescription drug and healthcare costs; reasserting American energy independence and dominance; protecting the environment and preserving coastal communities; upgrading and replacing the Bourne and Sagamore bridges. None of those words appears on any of them either.
U.S. aid to Palestinians
- Nothing located, at any date. Neither campaign site, nor any coverage read, mentions Gaza, UNRWA or humanitarian funding.
Characterization of the conflict
- Nothing located, at any date.
Related rhetoric and lobbying
- Nothing located, at any date. No statement about pro-Israel or pro-Palestinian organisations, and no pledge about their money, was found under his name.
Safety and antisemitism
- Nothing located, at any date.
What was read, and what it was about
- [Position, 2026-09-07] Ballotpedia’s page for him: “R. Tyler MacAllister (Republican Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Massachusetts’ 9th Congressional District. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 3, 2026. He advanced from the Republican primary on September 1, 2026.” The page states that he “has not yet completed Ballotpedia’s 2026 Candidate Connection survey” and reproduces his campaign’s own issue descriptions. The race page confirms the two-candidate general election field.
- [Position, 2025-06-10] Sippican Week, “Mattapoisett Select Board member announces congressional campaign”: his announcement at a Marion Republican Town Committee meeting on June 9, 2025. He is quoted on wanting a more conservative voice in the district and on fisheries: “One of the things that’s missing and been missing in this district is representation to the fishermen and the fisheries.” No foreign policy of any kind.
- [Position, 2026-07-11] Sippican Week, on his last Select Board meeting: local government only.
- [Position, 2026-08-25] The New Bedford Light’s report of the WATD radio debate names him as the November opponent and covers the Democratic primary; he did not take part and said nothing there. Its pre-primary profile of the race (2026-08-19) does the same. South Shore News’s account of the same debate (2026-08-27) likewise.
- [Position, 2026-09-02] The Martha’s Vineyard Times’ primary-night report names him as the Republican nominee in the 9th District. Nothing else.
- [Position, 2026-05-28] A U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy blog post on fishing regulations names him in its fisheries context. Not this topic; recorded because the search returned it.

- [Position, 2026-08-17] NightSide with Dan Rea, WBZ NewsRadio 1030, “From the Sea to D.C.”, a forty-minute interview his campaign lists on its Media page. Audio only; it was not heard, so nothing is drawn from it. His campaign’s own summary of it is about the fishing fleet and career politicians.
- [Undated] His X account, https://x.com/Macallister2026, and Instagram account, https://www.instagram.com/macallister4congress/. The X page loads only a sign-in prompt without post text.
- [Undated] localcandidates.org carries a page for him; the site does not render for us at all and is never used as a source.
Not on the card, and why
- The fisheries, offshore wind, bridges, immigration and cost-of-living material that fills both campaign sites: real positions, but not on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel or on aid to Palestinians. Listed above so a reader can see what the record does contain.
- Bill Keating’s and Craig Swallow’s answers on Israel at the August 2026 Democratic primary debate: they are the other candidates’ words and belong on their own cards.
- The Facebook posts and the radio hour: not read, so nothing is claimed from them either way. Their addresses are above.
