Anthony Hudson
Hudson told WCMU in 2024 he would have voted against February 2024's border bill as carrying too much funding for Ukraine and Israel, while still supporting U.S. aid for the defense of Israel and opposing funds for other Middle East conflicts.
Hudson, a Grand Blanc Township trucking-company owner, entered the governor's race as a Republican and took the Libertarian nomination at the party's June 28, 2026 convention.
His one located position on this issue is from his 2024 House run, on WCMU's page: asked about the failed February 2024 comprehensive immigration bill, he said he would not have voted for it because it had too much funding for Ukraine and Israel and not enough for the border. In the same interview, per the station's reporting, he still believes in supporting the defense of Israel but does not want those funds extended to other potential conflicts in the Middle East. Both sentences are the reporter's account of his words; he is not directly quoted.
In late October 2025 he claimed Dearborn was enforcing "Sharia law" and called for an "American Crusade" march, suggesting National Guard deployment. On November 14, 2025, after visiting three mosques and spending time in Dearborn, he publicly apologized, said his claims were based on misinformation, canceled the march, and called for bringing communities together. That episode is about Michigan communities, not about what America sends; it is carried here as dated context with his own correction.
