As the sitting U.S. Representative for Michigan's 10th district, James has voted consistently to send U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. On November 2, 2023 he voted Yes on H.R. 6126, the Israel supplemental appropriations bill that paired $14.3 billion for Israel with a rescission of IRS funding, which passed 226-196 (Roll Call 577); he said the same day that he had voted 'to rescind $14.3 billion in additional federal funds given to the IRS last summer and reallocate these funds to Israel.' On February 6, 2024 he voted Yes on H.R. 7217, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, brought up under suspension of the rules, which failed to reach two-thirds at 250-180 (Roll Call 38). On April 20, 2024 he voted Yes on H.R. 8034, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024, which passed 366-58 (Roll Call 152). On May 16, 2024 he voted Yes on H.R. 8369, the Israel Security Assistance Support Act, which passed 224-187 (Roll Call 217). On July 18, 2025 he voted No on the Greene of Georgia amendment (No. 13 / Part A No. 114) to H.R. 4016, the FY2026 defense appropriations bill, which sought to cut $500 million in cooperative missile-defense funding for Israel; the amendment failed 6-422 (Roll Call 207). He traveled to Israel in November 2023 with a House Foreign Affairs Committee delegation, was briefed by Ambassador Lew, Defense Minister Gallant and Prime Minister Netanyahu, and said 'America must help get these hostages home safely, and support Israel in its right to defend itself.' The Republican Jewish Coalition endorsed him for his 2024 House race, describing him as 'A staunch Israel ally.' Our funding data show $0 from each of the five tracked committees (AIPAC PAC, United Democracy Project, ZOA PAC, DMFI PAC, RJC PAC) in the 2026 cycle. No statement by James on placing conditions on U.S. aid to Israel, and no statement on this issue made during his gubernatorial campaign, was found.
