El-Sayed has made opposition to U.S. weapons and money for the Israeli government a central, repeatedly stated plank of his Senate campaign, and he has no federal voting record because he has never held federal office. In July 2025 he told the Detroit News (as reported by The Midwesterner) that he had been clear 'from the very jump' that U.S. tax dollars should not subsidize foreign militaries, comments The Midwesterner tied to his support for Sen. Bernie Sanders' proposal to block a $675 million bomb-and-firearms sale to Israel; in an August 2025 Current Affairs interview he extended that to 'offensive' and 'defensive' weapons alike, naming Israel, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. His campaign's 'Money Out of Politics' platform page states that he opposes 'direct blank-check funding to foreign militaries–including Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and others,' supports 'immediate and comprehensive enforcement of U.S. laws that condition the provision of military aid and sales,' supports 'an immediate arms embargo on Israel' while rejecting 'the false differentiation between "offensive" and "defensive" weapons,' supports 'immediate re-investment in foreign aid, including to UNRWA,' and opposes state action against 'the freedom to boycott.' In April 2026 a spokesperson told Jewish Currents that 'he does not believe the United States should sell weapons to Israel' — a position Jewish Currents reported went further than the then-prevailing progressive carve-out for Iron Dome interceptors. At a Detroit campaign stop reported by the Christian Science Monitor on 2026-05-21 he said 'I think unconditional foreign military aid should be illegal.' On 2026-07-15 his campaign issued a press release attacking rival Rep. Haley Stevens for voting No on Rep. Thomas Massie's amendment to H.R. 8595, which would have eliminated the $3.3 billion in annual U.S. Foreign Military Financing for Israel (House Roll Call 243; the amendment failed 104-314 with 10 voting present), and noting that AIPAC's super PAC United Democracy Project was the principal financial backer of her candidacy. The Stage-0 record shows $0 from all five tracked pro-Israel committees (AIPAC PAC, United Democracy Project, ZOA PAC, DMFI PAC, RJC PAC) in the 2026 cycle, and his platform page states he is 'the only candidate running for U.S. Senate in Michigan that has never taken a dime of corporate money–and never will.' Jewish Voice for Peace Action gave him its first-ever U.S. Senate endorsement on 2026-06-29; The Intercept reported that El-Sayed supports ending all U.S. weapons shipments to Israel while McMorrow supports blocking only offensive shipments and Stevens 'supports continuing the unconditional flow of arms to Israel.'
