Michael Whatley
Whatley, chairman of the North Carolina GOP (2019-2024) and then of the Republican National Committee (March 2024-August 2025), is the 2026 Republican Senate nominee; he has never held public office and has no votes on Israel aid. In an October 2023 North State Journal op-ed after the Hamas attacks he wrote that the U.S.-Israel alliance is 'far more than geopolitical, more than cultural – it's moral,' and in an October 2024 interview called himself 'a strong supporter of Israel and the Jewish faith.' The Republican Jewish Coalition endorsed him in April 2026, crediting him with reaffirming 'the Republican Party's unwavering backing of Israel's right to defend itself' after October 7. As of July 2026 his campaign issues page contains no Israel, aid, or foreign-policy plank, and no statement by him on specific aid packages, conditioning, UNRWA, or boycott legislation was located; FEC data show $25,022 in tracked pro-Israel committee support for his campaign this cycle.
