Bruce Blakeman
Bruce Blakeman (R), Nassau County Executive and the 2026 Republican nominee for New York governor, is an outspoken, self-described 'proud Zionist' and strong supporter of Israel. His Israel record is at the county/state and personal level rather than on US federal military aid: in a January 2026 interview he said that as county executive he implemented anti-boycott legislation, built business ties with Israel, and signed 'friendship agreements' with West Bank settlement bodies including the Shomron Regional Council, and pledged to dispatch state police and the National Guard against antisemitic or anti-Israel disorder if local officials fail to act. His 2025 federal tax return, reviewed by reporters in April 2026, shows he personally holds bonds issued by the State of Israel. As of July 2026 no statement was found in which Blakeman took a position specifically on US weapons or funding to Israel or on conditioning that aid.
