Kathy Hochul
As governor, Kathy Hochul (D) has been a consistent and vocal supporter of Israel and of continued US aid to it. On October 17, 2023 she organized and signed a bipartisan letter of 17 governors that commended increased US military assistance to Israel and urged Congress for 'immediate and continued U.S. aid to Israel'; days later (October 18-20, 2023) she led a New York State solidarity mission to Israel and met Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Herzog. Her administration has enforced New York's anti-boycott posture: she reaffirmed in October 2021 the 2016 executive order directing state entities to divest public funds from companies that boycott Israel, pressed Unilever/Ben & Jerry's over a planned sales boycott (June 2022), and in January 2025 condemned the CUNY faculty union's Israel-divestment vote. As of July 2026 no statement was found in which Hochul called for conditioning, restricting, or cutting US weapons or funding to Israel.
