Tom Suozzi (D), sitting U.S. Representative for NY-3 who won the Feb. 13, 2024 special election (defeating Mazi Pilip) and is the 2026 Democratic general-election nominee, is a self-described 'ardent supporter of Israel' and a consistent backer of U.S. military and financial aid to the government of Israel, explicitly favoring unconditional aid. In April 2024 he voted for and championed the $95 billion foreign-aid package, which included roughly $26.38 billion for Israel — funding to replenish Iron Dome, David's Sling, and Iron Beam missile defense, Foreign Military Financing, and munitions — and which also prohibited funds to UNRWA. In his first House tenure he voted to replenish Iron Dome funding (Sept. 2021), said he would 'stand against anyone, even members of my own party, in defense of our close ally,' and introduced the SHIELDS Act to sanction Hezbollah for using human shields.
