Michael Rulli is a Republican who has represented Ohio's 6th District since June 2024, when he won a special election for the seat Bill Johnson vacated. He was an Ohio state senator for the six years before that, and he is on the ballot again on November 3, 2026. One month after he was sworn in he signed on to a bill that would stop a president from pausing, suspending, delaying or cancelling deliveries of American defense articles to the government of Israel without giving Congress fifteen days' notice first. The same bill records the sense of Congress that previously approved arms sales should proceed and that all pauses should be lifted. Its findings name the shipment of 2,000-pound and 500-pound bombs the Biden administration had delayed in May 2024. He added his name on July 24, 2024. The House never voted on it.

In June 2025 he joined a second bill, which would build joint United States and Israeli work on countering drones and would raise the spending ceilings on two existing joint programs. It authorizes $150 million a year from 2026 through 2030 for the new program, lifts the anti-tunnel cooperation ceiling from $50 million to $80 million and the counter-drone ceiling from $55 million to $75 million, and extends both to the end of 2028. He signed on on June 2, 2025, and issued no statement about it.

He has not put either choice into words of his own. His congressional newsroom carries twenty-five items since he took office and not one of them names Israel, and his two campaign web addresses are parked pages with nothing on them. What he has said touches the conflict rather than the aid. On a page of Ohio officials' statements kept by Ohio Jewish Communities, an umbrella group for the state's eight Jewish federations, he stands "firmly with Israel and its undeniable right to defend itself" and says he prays for a peaceful resolution. In July 2026 he was one of six members introducing a resolution on the 32nd anniversary of the bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, where he said the victims' families deserve justice after 32 years.
