Tina Kotek
Gov. Tina Kotek (D) is Oregon's incumbent governor and, per the May 19, 2026 primary, the 2026 Democratic gubernatorial nominee facing Republican Christine Drazan in a rematch of 2022. Kotek has no located public position on U.S. military aid, weapons transfers, or aid-conditioning toward Israel, which are federal matters outside a governor's authority. On Oct. 9, 2023 she issued a statement condemning the Hamas attack on Israel, expressing solidarity with Oregon's Jewish community and pledging to 'repel anti-Semitism.' In late April/early May 2024 she responded to a pro-Palestinian encampment and library occupation at Portland State University (whose protesters demanded PSU divest from Israeli businesses and U.S. suppliers to Israel) by backing PSU President Ann Cudd's handling of the situation and defending nonviolent free expression while opposing harassment, violence, and property damage. As of July 24, 2026 no statement by Kotek was located on conditioning U.S. weapons/aid to Israel, Gaza leverage, UNRWA, Israel boycott/anti-boycott law, Israel bonds, state pension divestment, or deploying the National Guard in connection with Israel/Gaza.
