Hunt’s platform calls for an independent Palestinian state "fully sovereign, autonomous, and free from occupation", and says attacks by extremist settlers must meet "real accountability". He also pledges to vote against "blank checks" to Israel, Ukraine or Taiwan.
Hunt is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, combat aviator and former defence industry executive, and the Democratic nominee in Texas’s 3rd District; a local candidate profile sets out that background.
His campaign site, read, carries more on this than the first search reported. On the conflict he writes that attacks including those "by extremist settlers" weaken the potential for peace and "must be met with real accountability and a clear commitment to de-escalation and the protection of civilian communities", and that he believes in "a future where both Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace, with stability, security, and self-determination. This includes the realization of an independent Palestinian state that is fully sovereign, autonomous, and free from occupation".
On what America sends, the first search reports that same platform pledges he will vote against "blank checks to Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan, or any country that does not directly advance American interests". That is a blanket conditional position: Israel is named alongside two other countries and the test is American interests. The card gives it as that rather than as a position aimed at Israel. He also writes that because the administration has placed the United States "in the middle of an expanding conflict between Israel and Iran", "that’s why I won’t accept donations from AIPAC or any other foreign-interest aligned organization".
