After his Georgetown office was vandalized in April 2024, Carter said the vandals targeted him because "we were voting on Israel, funds for Israel", and told Newsweek "I stand unequivocally with Israel." Nothing later from him on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel was located.

On April 22, 2024 the front door of Carter's district office in Georgetown, Texas was splashed with red liquid and the words "Free Gaza" were painted on the sidewalk outside. Asked about it by Fox 7 Austin, he gave his own account of why he thought he had been hit: "It’s because I’m a congressman, and we were voting on Israel, funds for Israel, and they were trying to intimidate me." In a statement to Newsweek the same day he called the vandals "unhinged anti-Israel activists" and said, "I stand unequivocally with Israel. This isn't free speech, it's a crime, and down here in Texas, we hold criminals accountable." Fox 7 also reproduced a post from his own account saying his support for Israel is unwavering.

Before that, his own words on what the United States sends go back a long way. In June 2010 he co-sponsored a resolution by Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas which said Congress "pledges to continue to work with the Government of Israel and the people of Israel to ensure that their sovereign nation continues to receive critical economic and military assistance", and co-signed a letter asking the Speaker to invite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress. In December 2012 he co-sponsored a resolution urging the European Union to designate Hizballah a terrorist organization and joined colleagues asking the president to close the Palestine Liberation Organization's Washington office. In July 2006, on Israel's war with Hezbollah, he said, "I commend them for their valor and strength, and wish them a successful conclusion to this conflict."

Since April 2024 nothing further from him on the question has been found. His congressional newsroom was read from August 2026 back to mid 2020 and carries no item on Israel, Gaza or aid in that time. Apart from the statements above, the only other pages his official site carries on the subject are two statements about Iran's nuclear programme, from 2010 and 2015. His campaign site's issues page lists border security, the homeland, veterans, taxes, the Second Amendment and protecting children, and does not mention Israel, Gaza or foreign aid.
