But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check
Rustin Provance
Independent · U.S. House, Wisconsin District 3
–No Position Found
How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

Rustin Provance is running for Congress in Wisconsin's 3rd District as an independent. Born in Cameron, Missouri, he has described himself as a certified nursing assistant, and his campaign site says he later earned an HVAC-R certificate and moved to Wisconsin. He filed for this seat in 2022 and again in 2024 and withdrew both times; this year he is on the ballot. He has never held federal office, so there are no congressional votes on this record. He faces Representative Derrick Van Orden, the Republican, Rebecca Cooke, the Democratic nominee, and Alexander Valiensi Kent, another independent, on November 3.
The nearest his published material comes to this question is general. The issues page of his campaign site has a plank on the military and veterans that asks for steadier military budgets and says "We need a strong fist, with a voice of understanding and reason." In the Ballotpedia questionnaire he completed in 2024, during his earlier run for the seat, he listed "Ending unnecessary wars and losing unnecessary American lives for big corporations" among the areas of policy he cares most about. Neither names a country, a weapon or a bill, and the words Israel, Gaza and Palestinian appear nowhere on his site or in those answers. An empty record carries no implication either way.
His campaign's accounts on Facebook, X, Instagram and TikTok could not be read here. Their addresses are on his research page so that anyone who can open them may look.
You are better placed to change this than we are. Ask Provance directly, or at a candidate forum, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in his own words, which is worth more than anything we could write about him.

Research log
The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.
Our research for this card began with a search run on 2026-09-28, and every page below was opened and read on 2026-09-28 unless the entry says otherwise. His campaign site was read in full: its home, about, get involved, events and issues pages, which are all the pages it has. His Ballotpedia page, including the questionnaire he answered in 2024, and his iVoterGuide profile were read in full. Provance has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks is his, and no funding from the committees this site tracks is recorded on this record. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Nothing located on this subject falls in any band.
U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel
Nothing located, at any date. No statement by him about arms transfers, military aid, Foreign Military Financing, a condition on aid, or any bill on those subjects appears on his campaign site, in his Ballotpedia answers or in any report read for this card.
[Undated; read 2026-09-28] The closest material names no country. His campaign site's issues page, under the heading Military & the Veterans: "With each new administration we have massive swings from spending huge amounts on the military to then limiting spending on the military's needs, We need this to stop. We need a strong fist, with a voice of understanding and reason. Veterans will have access to the resources they need, as people are not expendable." The site carries a 2022 copyright line, and its environment plank does its arithmetic to 2022, so it appears unchanged since his first run; it is recorded on the date it was read.
[2024; the page records the year and not the day] His Ballotpedia questionnaire, completed during his 2024 run, lists among the areas of public policy he is passionate about: "Ending unnecessary wars and losing unnecessary American lives for big corporations." It names no war and no country.
U.S. aid to Palestinians
Nothing located, at any date. The United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, humanitarian aid for Gaza and the aid pipeline appear nowhere in his published material.
Characterization of the conflict
Nothing located, at any date. The words Israel, Gaza, Palestinian and Hamas appear nowhere on his campaign site or in his Ballotpedia answers.
Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying
Nothing located, at any date. No statement by him about the American Israel Public Affairs Committee or any other advocacy organization on this subject was found.
[Undated; read 2026-09-28] His campaign site's Get Involved page says "money should not buy elections" and "I will not be be taking donations." It names no organization, and it is recorded here as a statement about his own campaign.
Safety and antisemitism (context, not an answer to what America sends)
Nothing located, at any date.
What the campaign site and own pages say
[Undated; read 2026-09-28] His campaign site, headed "Solutions not more problems", carries an about page on his life, a Get Involved page, an events page listing one past event, and an issues page with eleven planks: judicial system reform, Social Security reform, abolishing the Federal Reserve, health care, the environment (the long-term effects of nuclear testing), education, term limits, tax reform, enforcing the Constitution, the military and veterans, and relations with Native American nations. Only the military plank touches defense, and it names no country.
[2024; the page records the year and not the day] Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey, completed during his 2024 run. He answered every question. His three key messages are headed Unity/True Term Limits, People and Exposing, the last about opening the books on the Federal Reserve. No question is about foreign policy, and apart from the line on unnecessary wars quoted above he raised none. Ballotpedia records that he has not completed its 2026 survey.
[Read 2026-09-28] iVoterGuide's profile of him marks all thirty-two questions "Did not answer", including one asking whether the United States' relationship with Israel is important. Because he answered nothing on that form, on any subject, this is a fact about the guide's coverage and not about his views.
[Undated; read 2026-09-28] The 9to5 advocacy group's 2026 Wisconsin candidate questionnaire carries his answers on child care, paid leave and maternal health. They argue for less federal involvement and more buying power, and say the nation is "broke"; none concerns foreign policy.
[Position, 2026-07-29] The Pierce County Journal's guide to the District 3 candidates, by Joseph Back, published July 29, 2026, carries his questionnaire answers. His philosophy is to uphold the Constitution and explain every vote; his most important issue is "Bringing back the gold standard and physically attaching it to our currency. Try my hardest to end the Federal Reserve." None of it concerns foreign policy. It gives his age as 45 and lists as his campaign social media a Facebook address with a numeric id, facebook.com/61590917901907/ , which differs from the account Ballotpedia lists.
The race
[Read 2026-09-28] Ballotpedia's page for the 2026 election in Wisconsin's 3rd District lists Derrick Van Orden, the Republican incumbent, Rebecca Cooke, the Democrat, and two independents, Alexander Valiensi Kent and Provance, in the general election on November 3, 2026. His Ballotpedia page records that he withdrew from the 2022 race and was among the withdrawn or disqualified candidates in 2024.

His campaign's accounts, all listed by Ballotpedia: Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/Rustin4wisconsin , which returned nothing readable; X, https://x.com/Rustin_Provance , Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/rustinprovancefor_congress_/ , and TikTok, https://www.tiktok.com/@rustin.provance , which returned pages with no readable posts; and LinkedIn, https://www.linkedin.com/in/rustin-provance-249371288/ , which needs a signed-in reader. A second Facebook address, https://www.facebook.com/61590917901907/ , which he gave the Pierce County Journal as his campaign social media, was not opened and is treated as unread. Their addresses are printed rather than linked because they do not open here.
Not on the card, and why
The rest of his platform, on courts, Social Security, the Federal Reserve, health care, nuclear testing, education, term limits, taxes and Native American relations: real positions, but not about U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or about U.S. aid to Palestinians. Listed above so the absence can be checked.
His pledge to take no donations: a statement about his own campaign, naming no organization.
The personal history on his about page: not about this subject.
Derrick Van Orden's, Rebecca Cooke's and Alexander Valiensi Kent's records belong on their own cards.
