But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

Tim Rogers

Republican · U.S. House, Wisconsin District 4
–
How this mark works

We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

See a dash? Ask the candidate where they stand, then send us their answer and we'll review it and update the mark. Or volunteer to help review candidates.

No recorded votes on the bills we track. We found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

Nothing located as of September 2026 has Rogers taking a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians. His campaign platform sets out four issues and none of them is foreign policy.

Deep Dive

Tim Rogers is a Milwaukee native who has run for this seat in every election since 2018. He graduated from North Division High School in 1978, studied at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and the Milwaukee Area Technical College, and has spent about thirty years delivering gift baskets and newspapers for two local businesses. He has not held office. He won the Republican primary on August 11, 2026 and is running on November 3, 2026 against the incumbent Democrat Gwen Moore and Arthur Burks, an independent.

His platform is domestic and it is short. His issues page carries four headings: universal school choice, criminal justice reform, clean water and lowering taxes. The words Israel, Gaza, Palestinian, Middle East and foreign aid appear nowhere on his site, and the same four headings in the same words have been his platform since at least 2022. An empty record carries no implication either way.

He has answered questions when he has been asked them, which is what makes the silence his own rather than a gap in the coverage. In 2020 he answered five questions at length for a Milwaukee public radio candidate guide, on his background, his three priorities, the pandemic, unemployment and racial inequality. None of the questions reached foreign policy and none of his answers went there. A national voter site carries his own words, taken from his campaign site, on health care, the economy, schools, abortion, poverty and gun rights, and nothing under its foreign policy heading, which is where it puts its questions on Israel, Gaza and foreign aid.

This year there are two places an answer might have been and is not. The same Milwaukee public radio station sent a questionnaire to all three candidates in this race and records that he did not respond. And a voter guide run by a division of American Family Association Action asks whether the United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies; his entry on it is blank, as is every other answer on that form, which is a fact about the form as much as about him. Both are on his research page with their addresses.

You are better placed to change this than we are. Ask Rogers directly, or at a candidate forum, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in his own words, which is worth more than anything we could write about him.

The money

Research log

The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.

Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-09-20 unless the entry says otherwise. His campaign site was read in full: the home page, the about page, the issues page and the press page. His Ballotpedia page was read from top to bottom, including the campaign platform it reproduces for 2024 and 2022. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Rogers has never held office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks is his, and no tracked funding is recorded on this record.

U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel

  • Nothing located, at any date. No statement by him about arms transfers, weapons shipments, Foreign Military Financing, security assistance, a dollar figure, a condition on aid, or any bill on those subjects appears on his campaign site, in his press page, in his Ballotpedia entry, in the platform Ballotpedia reproduces from his site for 2024 and 2022, on his national voter-site profile, in the 2020 public radio candidate guide he answered, in the 2026 public radio candidate page, or anywhere else read for this card.
  • [Position; read 2026-09-20] A voter guide published by iVoterGuide, a division of AFA Action, carries a profile for him for the November 3, 2026 general election. Its questionnaire includes the statement “The United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies.” His entry reads “Did not answer”. QUESTIONNAIRE TEST: every one of that form's thirty-seven questions reads “Did not answer”, and every biography field reads “Candidate did not provide”, so the blank on this question is a fact about the form's coverage and not a statement by him. The page rates him “Insufficient Information”. Nothing is drawn from it.

U.S. aid to Palestinians

  • Nothing located, at any date. Neither the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, nor humanitarian funding for Gaza, nor the aid pipeline, nor the Palestinian Authority appears anywhere in his published material.

Characterization of the conflict

  • Nothing located, at any date. The words Israel, Gaza, Palestinian, Hamas and Middle East appear nowhere on his campaign site, in his own 2020 statement, in his answers to the 2020 candidate guide, or in any report about his campaigns that could be read.

Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying

  • Nothing located, at any date. No statement by him about the American Israel Public Affairs Committee or any other advocacy organization on this subject was found, and no pledge about their donations was found under his name.

Safety and antisemitism (context, not an answer to what America sends)

  • Nothing located, at any date. He has published no statement about antisemitism, about the safety of Jewish communities, or about any named episode. Our research checked this specifically and reached the same finding, adding the warning that a different Tim Rogers, the mayor of New Paltz, New York, signed the American Jewish Committee's Mayors United Against Antisemitism statement. That page was read and it does list “Mayor Tim Rogers” of “New Paltz, NY”. He is not this candidate.

What the campaign site and own pages say

  • [Position; the pages are undated and were read 2026-09-20] His campaign site, its about page, its issues page and its press page. The issues page has four headings: Universal School Choice, Criminal Justice Reform, Clean Water and Lowering Taxes. The about page covers his background, his work and his community life. The press page holds three posts, all from October and November 2021, on restoring the rights of people who have completed their sentences, on eliminating property taxes and on the Declaration of Independence. A search of every page for israel, gaza, palestin, hamas, antisemit, jewish, unrwa, foreign, middle east, arms, weapon, war and aipac returns nothing on any of them. The site names no country other than the United States.
  • [Position; read 2026-09-20] His Ballotpedia page records that he has not completed the Candidate Connection survey in 2026 and did not complete it in 2024, 2022 or 2020. It reproduces his campaign website platform for 2024 and for 2022; both are the same four headings in the same words as the site carries now, and neither mentions any foreign subject.
  • [Position; the page is undated and was read 2026-09-20] His profile on Vote-USA, a national voter-information site. The page states: “Questions are included below only if there is at least one response.” His entries appear under General Philosophy, Personal and Family, Educational Background, Why I Am Running for Public Office, Health and Medical Reform, Opening the Economy, Private Schools Vouchers and Funding, Pro-Choice or Pro-Life, Poverty, and the Second Amendment, and each is sourced to a page of his campaign site with a date in 2020 or 2022. The site's own list of all questions available to candidates carries a Foreign Policy section that includes Israel, Gaza, Israel, Hamas and Palestinian Conflict, Zionism and Foreign Aid. He has no entry under any of them.
  • [Earlier record, 2020-08-17] His own statement after the August 2020 primary, published by Urban Milwaukee. He names five policies he would fight for: clean water, education for all, working with police, fixing infrastructure for roads and homes, and lowering taxes. The statement runs to about six hundred words and contains no foreign subject of any kind. Urban Milwaukee prints a note that the press release was submitted to it and not written by its own writer.
  • [Earlier record, 2020-10-26] Milwaukee public radio's 2020 candidate guide for this district. He answered all five questions it sent, several at length. His three priorities: “Safe communities (law and order, secure borders, defend not defund police), school choice (better literacy and graduations rates, best academic fit for student for success), criminal justice reform (First Step Act).” The other four questions concern his background, the pandemic, unemployment and racial inequality. None of the five asks about foreign policy and none of his answers reaches it. This is the clearest evidence that he answers questions he is asked, which is why the absence above is recorded as his own silence rather than a gap in what he was asked.
  • [Position, 2026; read 2026-09-20] Milwaukee public radio's candidate page for this district in 2026 records: “Rogers did not respond to WUWM's candidate questions.” It says the same of the other two candidates and fills each entry from campaign sites and earlier coverage. Its summary of him: “Rogers' top priorities are supporting universal school choice programs, criminal justice reform, access to clean water and lowering taxes.” Those are the station's words about him, drawn from his own site.

The race

  • [Read 2026-09-20] The general election is on November 3, 2026. Wisconsin's partisan primary was held on August 11, 2026. The field on the Wisconsin Elections Commission's certified Candidates on Ballot list, printed on August 25, 2026, is Tim Rogers, a Republican, Gwen Moore, a Democrat, and Arthur Burks, an independent. Ballotpedia's page for the race agrees: “Incumbent Gwen Moore, Tim Rogers, and Arthur Burks are running in the general election for U.S. House Wisconsin District 4 on November 3, 2026.” It gives the August 11 primary results as Rogers 80.8 percent to Purnima Nath's 18.8 on the Republican side and Moore 70.5 percent to Amy Donahue's 29.3 on the Democratic side, and lists Robert Raymond and Carlos Dixon, both independents, and the Democrat Asher Smale as withdrawn or disqualified. Ballotpedia prints its own caution that the candidate list may not be complete. The other candidates' records belong on their own cards.

Places that could not be read, so nothing is claimed from them

  • PBS Wisconsin's candidate page for him, at https://pbswisconsin.org/candidate/tim-rogers/ , and the Wisconsin Examiner's 2026 primary voter guide for this district, at https://wisconsinexaminer.com/voter-guides/contests/2026-republican-primary-4th-cd/ . Three routes were tried for each on 2026-09-20 and all three ended at an automated check that will not let a reader through. Both are voter guides built from candidate answers, so either could carry something.
  • His campaign's accounts. https://www.facebook.com/TimRogersforCongress/ returned an error, and the personal page a voter site lists for him, http://www.facebook.com/tim.rogers.567056/ , was not read. His account at https://x.com/RogersforCong opened far enough to show that it exists, describes him as “Milwaukee Born, Passionate About My Community, Running for Congress” and carries 282 posts, and then asked for an account before showing any of them. None of the posts was read.

Not on the card, and why

  • His platform on school choice, criminal justice, clean water and taxes, his 2021 press posts, his 2020 statement and the whole of his 2020 candidate guide answers: real positions, none of them about U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or about U.S. aid to Palestinians. They are listed above so the absence is checkable.
  • The blank against the Israel question on the iVoterGuide form. Every answer on that form is blank, so it says nothing about him.
  • The public radio station's summary of his priorities, and Ballotpedia's reproduction of his platform. Other people's accounts of him; his own site says the same things and is what is linked on the card.
  • Gwen Moore's and Arthur Burks's records. Another candidate's record belongs on that candidate's own card.
  • Everything about Mayor Tim Rogers of New Paltz, New York, including his signature on the American Jewish Committee's mayors' statement against antisemitism. A different person.
