But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check
Elizabeth Anne Fitzgibbon
Independent · U.S. House, Wisconsin District 6
–No Position Found
How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
No recorded votes on the bills we track. We found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
Nothing located as of September 2026 has Fitzgibbon taking a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians. Her platform's foreign policy plank calls for ending “open-ended foreign entanglements” and names no country.

Elizabeth Anne Fitzgibbon is running for Congress in Wisconsin's 6th District as an independent. A graduate of Neenah High School and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, she describes herself as a mother and advocate who took her own family law case to the U.S. Supreme Court, and family court reform and judicial accountability are central to her campaign. She has never held federal office, so there are no congressional votes on this record. She faces Representative Glenn Grothman, the Republican, Bradley Smith, the Democratic nominee, Matthew Arndt of the Green Party and Mike Thurow, another independent, on November 3.
Her campaign's accounts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok could not be read here. Their addresses are on her research page so that anyone who can open them may look.
You are better placed to change this than we are. Ask Fitzgibbon directly, or at a candidate forum, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in her own words, which is worth more than anything we could write about her.

Research log
The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.
Our research for this card began with a search run on 2026-09-28, and every page below was opened and read on 2026-09-28 unless the entry says otherwise. Her campaign site was read in full: its home, Why I'm Running, Issues, Solutions, Get Involved and Stay Connected pages. The Solutions page shows its priorities one at a time in a slideshow; the text of every slide was read from the data file the page itself loads. Her Ballotpedia page and Candidate Connection answers, her iVoterGuide profile, WUWM's candidate guide, a May 2026 interview and a September 2026 campaign release were also read. Fitzgibbon has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks is hers, and no funding from the committees this site tracks is recorded on this record. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Nothing located falls in the reaction window or earlier.
U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel
Nothing located, at any date. No statement by her about arms transfers or military aid to the government of Israel, Foreign Military Financing, a condition on aid, or any bill on those subjects appears on her campaign site, in her Ballotpedia answers or in any report read for this card.
[Undated; read 2026-09-28] The closest material names no country. Her campaign site's Solutions page, under the priority headed Foreign Policy Rooted in American Interests: “For too long, Washington has sent troops, weapons, and taxpayer dollars into conflicts without clear objectives, proper accountability, or a direct connection to America’s national security. Elizabeth will fight to restore constitutional limits on war powers, end open-ended foreign entanglements, and ensure military decisions serve the American people first.” And: “She supports a defense-first foreign policy focused on protecting our borders, strengthening military readiness, securing American energy and food independence, and avoiding wars that do not advance U.S. security.” Its six commitments: "Require clear congressional authorization for military action"; "End open-ended foreign entanglements without defined American interests"; "Stop using taxpayer dollars to fund conflicts with no clear path or accountability"; "Prioritize border security, military readiness, and defense of the homeland"; "Strengthen American energy, food, and supply-chain security"; "Put American troops and taxpayers first". No country, conflict, weapon system or bill is named.
[Position, 2026-05-11] Michael Volpe's interview with her on his Substack, The Unknown, summarizes her platform as including "ending foreign entanglements, and more". That is the interviewer's summary, a third party speaking about her; the second part of the interview is a recording that was not transcribed or watched.
U.S. aid to Palestinians
Nothing located, at any date. The United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, humanitarian aid for Gaza and the aid pipeline appear nowhere in her published material.
Characterization of the conflict
Nothing located, at any date. The words Israel, Gaza, Palestinian and Hamas appear nowhere on her campaign site or in her Ballotpedia answers.
Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying
Nothing located, at any date. No statement by her about the American Israel Public Affairs Committee or any other advocacy organization on this subject was found. Her platform calls for "Greater disclosure around special-interest influence so voters know who is trying to shape policy", naming no organization.
Safety and antisemitism (context, not an answer to what America sends)
Nothing located, at any date.
What the campaign site and own pages say
[Undated; read 2026-09-28] Her campaign site is organized around affordability, accountability and transparency. The Solutions page calls itself "12 Priorities that get to the root of the problem": sound money and the Federal Reserve; health care and clean food; Social Security and Medicare; foreign policy, quoted above; parents and local schools; benefit cliffs and dependency; privacy and emergency powers; judicial accountability; free speech (headed End the Weaponization of Linguistics); data privacy and surveillance; family courts and marriage; and electoral reform. Only the foreign policy priority concerns defense or foreign affairs. The page also carries a video for each priority; those were not watched.
[Position, 2026-06-21] Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey, submitted June 21, 2026 per the page's footnote. She answered all three open questions at length, on affordability and federal spending, on accountability and running as an independent, and on fiscal discipline, transparency and civil liberties. No question on the form is about foreign policy, and she raised none.
[Position, 2026-09-21] The USA TODAY Network-Wisconsin candidate questionnaire, as published by the Sheboygan Press and carried by Yahoo News, by Alex Garner. She answered all five questions, on why she is running, her priorities (affordability, accountability and transparency), the biggest issue, working with opponents, and a promise to remain independent. None concerns foreign policy. It gives her residence as Neenah and her occupation as phlebotomist, advocate and mother, and says her campaign told the paper that AI assistance was used in her responses.
[Position, 2026-07-14; updated 2026-08-13] WUWM's guide to the 6th District candidates says "Fitzgibbon did not respond to WUWM's candidate questions" and summarizes her campaign site. The questions it printed answers to from another candidate are about domestic policy.
[Read 2026-09-28] iVoterGuide's profile of her marks all thirty-two questions "Did not answer", including one asking whether the United States' relationship with Israel is important; because she answered nothing on that form, this is a fact about the guide's coverage and not about her views. The same profile lists an endorsement from the Libertarian Party of Wisconsin.
[Position, September 2026] A WisPolitics release from her campaign announces a joint family court reform effort with a Republican candidate in Virginia. It does not concern this subject.
The race
[Read 2026-09-28] Ballotpedia's page for the 2026 election in Wisconsin's 6th District: "Incumbent Glenn Grothman (R), Bradley Smith (D), Matthew Arndt (G), Elizabeth Fitzgibbon (Independent), and Mike Thurow (Independent) are running in the general election for U.S. House Wisconsin District 6 on November 3, 2026."

Not on the card, and why
The rest of her platform, on the Federal Reserve, health care, Social Security, schools, benefit cliffs, privacy, the courts and family law: out of scope. Listed above so the absence can be checked.
The interviewer's summary of her platform in The Unknown: a third party speaking about her; her own site carries the same commitment in her campaign's words, which is what the card uses.
The iVoterGuide endorsement listing and blank questionnaire: not a statement by her on this subject.
Glenn Grothman's, Bradley Smith's, Matthew Arndt's and Mike Thurow's records belong on their own cards.
