But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

How this mark works

We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

See a dash? Ask the candidate where they stand, then send us their answer and we'll review it and update the mark. Or volunteer to help review candidates.

No recorded votes on the bills we track. We found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

Nothing located as of September 2026 has Rojas taking a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians. His campaign site sets out four priorities, all of them domestic: jobs, education, public safety and health care.

Deep Dive

Eddy Rojas is running in Florida's 28th District with no party affiliation. He qualified on June 8, 2026 by paying the qualifying fee and faces Representative Carlos Gimenez and the Democrat Phil Ehr on November 3; both major-party primaries were cancelled. His campaign site says he came to Miami from Cuba and over twenty years built a service company, going from parking cars to running the business. He ran for mayor of Miami-Dade County in 2024 and took 1.3 percent in the August primary. He has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks are his.

This is an empty record on these questions rather than a thin one. The priorities page of his campaign site has four entries: cutting regulations and small-business taxes, school choice and vocational training, support for law enforcement and border security, and lower prescription drug costs with protection for Medicare. None of them reaches foreign policy, and the words Israel, Gaza and Palestinian appear nowhere on the site. He has not filled in Ballotpedia's candidate survey for either of his campaigns, and the press coverage of both races names him without quoting him. An empty record carries no implication either way.

His campaign's Instagram account, his personal Instagram and his LinkedIn page could not be read here, and neither could a September 2026 report on a debate invitation sent to him. Their addresses are on his research page.

You are better placed to change this than we are. Ask Rojas directly, or at a candidate forum, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in his own words, which is worth more than anything we could write about him.

Research log

The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.

Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-09-28 unless the entry says otherwise. His campaign site was read in full: the home page, the about page, the priorities page (published at the address /events-1 and linked from the site's Issues button) and the get-involved page. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Rojas has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks is his, and no funding from the committees this site tracks is recorded on this record.

  • Nothing located, at any date. His safety plank is about local policing, border security and crime prevention and does not mention any religious community.

What the campaign site and own pages say

  • [Position, read 2026-09-28] The priorities page of his campaign site lists four: "The Economy & Jobs" (cutting burdensome regulations and taxes on small businesses), "Education & Opportunity" (school choice, vocational training and affordable higher education), "Safe Communities" ("I will support our law enforcement, secure our borders, and invest in community programs that prevent crime and give our youth a brighter future.") and "Healthcare Access" (lower prescription drug costs, telehealth, protecting Medicare). The page carries no date and is recorded on the date we read it.
  • [Position, read 2026-09-28] The about page says he "came to Miami from Cuba with a dream and a work ethic that wouldn't quit" and built a service company over twenty years, "going from parking cars to leading one of Florida's most respected service businesses." It quotes him: "My family is my anchor. Everything I do is for their future — and for every family in District 28."
  • [Read 2026-09-28] The home page carries his name, "Running for U.S. Congress — Florida District 28", and donation links, and nothing else; its text renders only in a full browser.
  • [Read 2026-09-28] His Ballotpedia page says he has not completed the 2026 Candidate Connection survey and did not complete the 2024 one.

The race

  • [Read 2026-09-28] The Florida Division of Elections' candidate page for him lists Eddy Rojas, No Party Affiliation, for United States Representative, District 28: filed 04/13/2026, qualified 06/08/2026 by paying the qualifying fee, status "Qualified". The Division's current federal list carries him under District 28 with Carlos A. Gimenez and Phil "Felipe" Ehr.
  • [Read 2026-09-28] His Ballotpedia page records that Carlos Gimenez, the incumbent Republican, Phil Ehr, the Democrat, and Eddy Rojas are running in the general election on November 3, 2026, that both major-party primaries were cancelled, and that in the nonpartisan primary for mayor of Miami-Dade County on August 20, 2024 he took 3,609 votes, 1.3 percent, in a seven-candidate field won by Daniella Levine Cava.
  • [Position, 2026-08-14] CBS Miami's guide to the August 18 primaries says he "qualified without party affiliation and will appear in the general election." It says nothing else about him.
  • [Position, 2024-08-07] NBC 6's guide to the 2024 mayoral race names him as one of three additional candidates and does not quote him.

Places that could not be read, so nothing is claimed from them

  • [2026-09-22] Florida Politics' report that Phil Ehr had invited Carlos Gimenez and Eddy Rojas to general-election debates, whose proposed subjects are described as including U.S. foreign policy: https://floridapolitics.com/archives/821220-phil-ehr-challenges-carlos-gimenez-eddy-rojas-to-cd-28-debates-amid-statewide-debate-drought/ . It was refused on both attempts (a 403 to one, a payment wall to the other). Whether Rojas answered the invitation, and what the debates would cover, are therefore not known.
  • His accounts, all listed by Ballotpedia: the campaign's Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/rojasforcongress/ , his personal Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/erojas84/ , and https://www.linkedin.com/in/eddy-rojas-41377885 . Not read; nothing is claimed from them.

Not on the card, and why

  • His four domestic priorities and his biography: real, but not about U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or about U.S. aid to Palestinians. Listed above so the absence can be checked.
  • The Florida Politics debate report: it did not open, so nothing from it is used on the card.
