But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
Two reviewers, reading the public record as a whole, agree: Answering a 2026 survey question on conditions for military aid to Israel, he says "We should stay out of foreign affairs that don't effect us directly", without saying where he stands on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. Reviewed by hand on 2026-10-09. This candidate has no recorded tracked floor votes.
Edmond J. Laplante Jr. is an auto mechanic from Richmond, a Marine Corps veteran and a member of his local school board, and he chairs the Constitution Party of New Hampshire, a minor party. He qualified for the November ballot by nomination papers at the end of August 2026 and faces Chris Pappas and John Sununu for a Senate seat with no incumbent running. He ran in the Republican primary for this seat in 2022 and was a candidate for governor in 2024 before withdrawing. He has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks are his.
He has been asked the question once, in a New Hampshire voter guide's 2026 survey. The question was whether military aid to the government of Israel should require it to take certain actions to reduce civilian casualties, and he answered: "We should stay out of foreign affairs that don't effect us directly". The guide files the answer under "Other" rather than for or against. It is the same answer he gave, apart from one word's spelling, to the survey's questions on military aid to Ukraine, on American involvement in the war with Iran, and on the operation to capture the president of Venezuela. On most of the survey's other questions he answered plainly for or against, so the choice of this answer on these four is his own. It declines the conditioning question rather than answering it, and it does not say whether the aid itself should continue.
Nothing located has him characterizing the war, speaking about lobbying on the subject, or addressing antisemitism. If you want to know whether he would keep, condition or end U.S. weapons and money for the government of Israel, or U.S. aid to Palestinians, you are better placed to get the answer than we are: ask Laplante directly and send us the reply. It goes on this page in his own words.

The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.
Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-09-28 unless the entry says otherwise. His campaign site was read in full: the home page, the platform page, the about page and the endorsements page. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Laplante has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks is his. The funding badges on this record show what the tracked committees have spent on him.
U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel
[Position, Citizens Count Issue Survey 2026; the page dates the survey only by year, so recorded on the date we read it, 2026-09-28] Citizens Count's profile, under the heading "Limit aid to Israel", position "Other". Question: "Should military aid to Israel include a requirement that Israel take certain actions to reduce civilian casualties?" His answer: "We should stay out of foreign affairs that don't effect us directly"
[Position, read 2026-09-28] His platform page, under the heading "America/NH first": "America is strongest when it minds its own business and honors the Constitution that made us a free and self-governing people. For decades, Washington has dragged our nation into foreign conflicts and endless wars that do not directly involve our security, costing trillions of dollars and countless lives while neglecting the needs of our own citizens. I believe it is time to end U.S. involvement in wars abroad, stop sending foreign aid overseas, and focus on rebuilding our country here at home." The plank names no country. The page is headed "My Promise to NH: Contract Signing, Sunday, September 13th, 2026" and carries a video from that event, which was not watched.
[Earlier record, 2022] Ballotpedia quotes his 2022 campaign site, accessed July 10, 2022, under "Strong Military": "In these crazy times, our safety should be a major priority. For every dollar we send to foreign countries, we should spend at least 2 on our military and border control." That site, voteedlaplante4nh.com, no longer resolves.
U.S. aid to Palestinians
Nothing located, at any date, that names aid to Palestinians. His general pledge to "stop sending foreign aid overseas" is set out above; he has not applied it to this aid in his own words.
Characterization of the conflict
Nothing located, at any date. The words Gaza, Palestinian and Hamas appear nowhere on his campaign site, in his Ballotpedia answers or in his Citizens Count answers.
Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying
Nothing located, at any date.
Safety and antisemitism
Nothing located, at any date.
What the campaign site and own pages say
[Position, read 2026-09-28] His campaign site describes him as "Father, Grandfather, Marine" and a former Senate and governor candidate and current school board member, compares the Constitution to a machine's manual that should be respected rather than altered, and reports that he was told on Monday, August 31 that his more than 3,400 verified nomination papers had qualified him for the ballot. Its platform page has five sections: America/NH first; veterans and mental health; government overreach and transparency, naming the Federal Reserve and fusion centers; border enforcement and immigration; and academic excellence and home education.
[Position, submitted 2026-08-29; read 2026-09-28] Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey. His three messages are "Constitutional compliance/limited government", "Protect People's liberty, rights and financial well-being" and "Transparency and accountability". He names Ron Paul as the figure he looks up to and "Government Overreach" as the country's greatest challenge. No question on the form asks about foreign policy and he raised none. His 2022 answers, submitted April 16, 2022, are about constitutional rights, drug addiction and border control, and government spending.
[Position, Citizens Count Issue Survey 2026; read 2026-09-28] Citizens Count records his answers on federal questions. He gave the answer quoted above, with "affect" or "effect", on four foreign questions: military aid to Israel, military aid to Ukraine, U.S. involvement in the war in Iran, and the U.S. operation to capture Venezuela's president. On most other questions he answered for or against, for example against decreasing tariffs, for limiting private equity purchases of homes, against mail-in voting, for privatizing some or all of Social Security, and against a carbon tax.
The race
[Read 2026-09-28] His Ballotpedia page records that Chris Pappas, the Democrat, John Sununu, the Republican, and Edmond Laplante of the Constitution Party are running in the general election on November 3, 2026, with no incumbent in the race. It records that he ran in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate on September 13, 2022, and lists him among the withdrawn or disqualified candidates in the 2024 general election for governor. It notes that he has been affiliated with the Richmond Swanzey Republican Town Committee, and gives his Marine Corps service as 1999 to 2007.
[Earlier record, 2022] The Keene Sentinel's 2022 profile reports that he said he favored military spending to upgrade equipment and improve readiness while bringing government spending under control. It does not reach this subject.

A Local Candidates profile of him, a host this project does not use.
Not on the card, and why
His Ukraine, Iran and Venezuela answers: they show that his answer on the government of Israel is a general rule he applies to every foreign question, which the deep dive says; the Iran answer is not a subject for the card front.
His 2022 "Strong Military" line about foreign spending: earlier record, and it names no country.
His platform on veterans, federal agencies, immigration and education, and his Citizens Count answers on domestic questions: out of scope.
