From a leadership platform, Kevin Hern pressed for this money to move faster and carry no offsets. As chairman of the Republican Study Committee, he and then-Senator JD Vance called on the Speaker at the end of January 2024 to put an Israel bill on the House floor immediately, with no spending offset attached. In April he told CBS News the Speaker was doing the right thing in moving Israel aid as a bill separate from Ukraine aid. The month before, he had led a bipartisan resolution with Rep. Brad Schneider urging stronger U.S.–Israel economic ties and free trade — an economic rather than a military measure — which his office said AIPAC supported. He condemned the administration's withholding of a bomb shipment in May 2024. Whether he signed the House letters to the President that month demanding release of the withheld munitions could not be verified. His 2026 Senate campaign site is silent on all of it: its issues content lists China, veterans, the budget, the border, jobs, religious liberty, abortion, free speech and the Second Amendment, and never mentions Israel, foreign aid or weapons transfers.
