Tom Cole did more than vote for this money — he wrote some of it. He introduced H.R. 8034, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024, as its sole sponsor, and the bill designated the funds as emergency spending exempt from discretionary spending limits. Four weeks later, after the administration paused shipments of 2,000-lb and 500-lb bombs, he was one of four members who drafted a bill to bar federal funds from being used to withhold defense articles and services from Israel, and its first-listed original cosponsor. In July 2026, as chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, he led floor debate for the FY2027 national security and State Department appropriations bill. No statement of his supporting any condition, restriction or offset on U.S. security assistance to Israel — in either direction — was found at any date. His 2026 campaign site lists eight issues and mentions none of this: not Israel, not foreign aid, not weapons transfers. The Republican Jewish Coalition appears in its endorsement list without accompanying text.
