Jena Nelson is the Democratic nominee in Oklahoma's 5th District and faces Rep. Stephanie Bice, along with independents Robert Henri and Austin Nieves, on November 3, 2026. She taught for more than sixteen years, was named Oklahoma Teacher of the Year in 2020, ran for state superintendent of public instruction in 2022 and most recently led the Oklahoma Faith Network. She has never held office, so there are no votes to set beside what she says.

This is an empty record on these questions rather than a thin one. Her campaign site was read in full: five pages and the fourteen press releases in its newsroom, going back to her announcement in July 2025. The heading that would most plausibly carry a position, National Security, is entirely about the border and immigration, and its proposals are more border agents, faster asylum decisions and more work visas. Nothing on the site uses the words Israel, Gaza, Palestinians, foreign aid or arms. The candidate survey she submitted to Ballotpedia on June 29, 2026 names three priorities, all domestic. At the Oklahoma County Democratic Party's forum on June 12, 2026, the seven questions put to her and her primary opponent covered schools, labor, tribal sovereignty, LGBTQ rights, data centers, immigration enforcement and health care. An empty record carries no implication either way.

Two passages in her campaign's own words come nearest to the subject and neither answers it. A January 12, 2026 press release criticizing Bice for comparing Democrats to Hamas describes that group as Islamic extremists who murdered 1,200 Israelis on October 7, 2023. When she filed for the seat on April 1, 2026 she named the war with Iran among the causes of higher prices at home. Her account on X carries 450 posts and only the most recent one could be read here; that account, her campaign's Facebook page and a July 2025 television interview are listed on the research page.
