Andrews, a Charleston pediatrician, won the June 2026 Democratic Senate primary outright. Her platform is health care, gun safety, and reproductive freedom, and we found no statement from her on what the United States sends, funds, or withholds in this conflict.
What she has said runs against war politics generally, aimed at the late Sen. Lindsey Graham: a March 2026 campaign video framed the race as "a pediatrician v. warmonger," and another reportedly said that if Graham tried to "come get our sons and daughters to fight in his war, he is going to have to go through me." Those spans ride on her campaign's own video posts, which we did not watch, so they are reported, not asserted. In a February 2026 strategy video, also unwatched, she argued that foreign-policy fights over Gaza and Israel alienate voters and Democrats should stay on domestic issues.
After Graham's death and the appointment of his sister Darline Graham Nordone to the seat, Andrews told the Guardian her "mission remains the same." In May 2026 she was endorsed by JACPAC, a group pairing domestic priorities with support for strong U.S.-Israel relations; the endorsement is the endorser's act, not her stated position.
