But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
Two reviewers, reading the public record as a whole, agree: His platform calls for an arms embargo on Israel with conditions on any military aid, and his September 2026 Ballotpedia answers name an "arms embargo on Israel" among his top issues, so weapons should stop now, with nothing saying any should continue. Reviewed by hand on 2026-10-01. This candidate has no recorded tracked floor votes.
Eddie Espinoza is the Green Party nominee in Texas's 34th District in the Rio Grande Valley. He drove a Bradley fighting vehicle in the Army during Desert Storm, taught in Valley public schools for 26 years, and ran for the Texas Railroad Commission as a Green in 2024. He advanced from the Green Party convention on March 21, 2026 and faces Representative Vicente Gonzalez, the Democrat, Eric Flores, the Republican, and Chris Royal, the Libertarian, on November 3. He has never held federal office, so there are no votes on this record.
His campaign site states the position in a short list. Under his name it says he "Supports an arms embargo and conditioning military aid to Israel", "Calls for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Palestine" and "Supports Palestinian rights and statehood". His priorities page opens with it: "Free Palestine! Arms embargo and condition military aid to Israel", followed by "Stop wasting money on forever wars, instead invest in our people: end the American Empire, and cut military spending in half." In his Ballotpedia answers, submitted September 25, 2026, he names "arms embargo on Israel" among the issues he cares most about. None of these pages says how an embargo and conditions on aid would fit together, or what he would do about U.S. aid to Palestinians.
On lobbying, the same site says he "Rejects support from all PACs, including AIPAC and their allies" and "Opposes lobbying by unregistered foreign agents". AIPAC is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a lobbying organization that works for close United States and Israel ties; his site calls it "a foreign interest PAC that puts Israel first instead of America first." A Facebook video post of his about Gaza, which carries no date, is on his research page with everything else our research found.
In their words
“Free Palestine! Arms embargo and condition military aid to Israel”
The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.
Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-10-08 unless the entry says otherwise. His campaign site was read in full: its home page, priorities page and Meet Eddie page, and its feed, which lists no posts. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Undated pages are recorded on the date we read them. Espinoza has never held federal office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks is his, and no funding from the committees this site tracks is recorded on this record. Nothing located on this subject falls in the reaction window.

[Position, 2026-09-25] His Ballotpedia Candidate Connection answers, submitted September 25, 2026, asked what areas of policy he is passionate about: "To name just a few: the climate crisis, water security, clean air, education, improved and expanded Medicare for All, tax billionaires, arms embargo on Israel, put Americans first."
[Undated] A video post on the Facebook page Ballotpedia lists as his personal account, Eddie Espinoza (https://www.facebook.com/EddieEspinoza4Senate/videos/end-to-conflict-genocide-and-warwe-are-nearing-3-years-of-our-tax-dollars-being-/1086263577532176/), titled "End to conflict, genocide, and war.": "We are nearing 3 years of our tax-dollars being spent on unaliving women and children, unnecessarily in Gaza." and "South Texas says enough. We don’t have money to waste on genocide and endless wars as we are in a full-blown climate emergency. We need those funds here in our homeland to address our water scarcity problems, improve our flood-control, and meet everyone's basic needs." The page did not show a posting date; its own words place it close to three years after the war began, which is a reading of the text, not a date. Recorded here only.
U.S. aid to Palestinians
Nothing located about U.S. aid to Palestinians, at any date. His site supports "Palestinian rights and statehood"; it names no aid program.
Characterization of the conflict
[Position, read 2026-10-08] His site's call for "an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Palestine" and "Free Palestine!", above.
[Undated] The Facebook video post above calls the war in Gaza a genocide ("We the People, and current and former military personnel are not interested in retribution and lawfare, we simply want the genocide and wars to end.") and says: "For over 25 years, Netanyahu has been an obstacle to peace in the Middle East, the Americas, as well as Africa."
Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying
[Position, read 2026-10-08] His home page: "Rejects support from all PACs, including AIPAC and their allies", and "Eddie Espinoza is taking NO AIPAC money, no corporate PAC money, and the only endorsements he wants are from voters in the district, not from party bosses." The page also says of the incumbent that records show he is "con AIPAC," calling it "a foreign interest PAC that puts Israel first instead of America first."
[Undated] The Facebook video post above: "Christian Nationalists, Zionists, Christian Zionists, Arab Zionists and techno fascist billionaires have incorrectly assumed that they rule the world, and WE THE PEOPLE are here to serve them."
Safety and antisemitism
Nothing located, at any date.
What the campaign site and own pages say
[Read 2026-10-08] His Meet Eddie page is a letter to voters about his family, his service in the 1991 Gulf War, which he says cost far too much, and his teaching career; it does not mention Israel or Gaza. His priorities page otherwise covers students, seniors and veterans, Medicare for All, energy, heat, land and water, and gun safety.
The race
[Read 2026-10-08] Ballotpedia lists him as the Green Party candidate on the November 3, 2026 ballot with Gonzalez, Flores and Royal, and calls the race a 2026 battleground election. His 2024 Railroad Commission survey is also on the page.
[Read 2026-10-08] Branch's voter guide entry for him says that as of September 11, 2026 his website had no information on foreign policy. The site as read on October 8 carries the positions above.
