But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
Two reviewers, reading the public record as a whole, agree: Answering a 2026 voter-guide question, he says "the United States' relationship with Israel is greatly valued" and calls Israel "Our ironclad partner", without saying where he stands on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. Reviewed by hand on 2026-10-09. This candidate has no recorded tracked floor votes.
Nothing located has Mitchell taking a position on U.S. weapons or money for the government of Israel, or on U.S. aid to Palestinians. In a 2026 voter guide he wrote that "Israel is Our ironclad partner" and that the two countries share "a common bond politically, strategically, and spiritually."

Christopher Mitchell, an electrical engineering contractor in Colorado Springs who works mainly on aerospace projects, is the American Constitution Party nominee in Colorado's 5th District. He faces Representative Jeff Crank, the Republican, Jessica Killin, the Democrat, and Mark Elworth Jr., the Libertarian, on November 3, with Steven Fuller running as a write-in. A former Republican, he ran for this seat in 2022 and 2024 and for mayor of Colorado Springs in 2023. He has never held office, so there are no votes on this record.
His words on the subject are questionnaire answers. Asked by iVoterGuide in 2026 whether the relationship with Israel is important, he wrote: "Yes, the United States' relationship with Israel is greatly valued. The United States and Israel share a common bond politically, strategically, and spiritually. More than just an ally, Israel is Our ironclad partner in promoting Freedom, Strength, and Safety on the world stage." He gave the same answer in 2024. He answered every question on the 2026 form, and on foreign policy chose the view that the United States "has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger." Neither answer says what the United States should send the government of Israel, or anything about aid to Palestinians. His campaign site does not mention Israel, Gaza or foreign aid.
His earlier record points the same way. In his 2022 iVoterGuide answers he marked "Strongly Disagree" with a statement backing a boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign against the government of Israel, and added: "Israel should not be pressured, in any way, to compromise, withdraw from occupied territories, or remove the separation barrier in the West Bank."
You are better placed to change this than we are. Ask Mitchell directly, or at a candidate forum, what he would have the United States send, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in his own words, which is worth more than anything we could write about him.
In their words

Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-10-08 unless the entry says otherwise. His campaign site was read in full: its home, About Christopher, Events, Gallery and Contact pages. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Undated pages are recorded on the date we read them. Mitchell has never held office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks is his, and no funding from the committees this site tracks is recorded on this record. Nothing located on this subject falls in the reaction window.
U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel
Nothing located that says what the United States should send the government of Israel, at any date.
[Position, read 2026-10-08] His iVoterGuide profile for the November 3, 2026 general election, answering "Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?": "Yes, the United States' relationship with Israel is greatly valued. The United States and Israel share a common bond politically, strategically, and spiritually. More than just an ally, Israel is Our ironclad partner in promoting Freedom, Strength, and Safety on the world stage." The page gives no submission date and notes that his answers arrived after the guide's evaluation was assigned. He answered every question on the form. It names no weapons, money or program.
[Position, read 2026-10-08] The same profile, on foreign policy: "The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. The American Constitution Party platform states, "The United States is properly a free and sovereign republic which should strive to live in peace with all nations, without interfering in their internal affairs, and without permitting their interference in ours."" He marks "Strongly Agree" that "Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security."
[Earlier record, 2022 race] His iVoterGuide profile for the November 8, 2022 general election records "Strongly Disagree" with the statement "I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees." His comment under it: "Israel should not be pressured, in any way, to compromise, withdraw from occupied territories, or remove the separation barrier in the West Bank." followed by "See answer to "National Security" - question 1.", which is his choice of the same non-interventionist foreign-policy view and his party's platform against "entangling alliances". The 2022 race was decided in November 2022, before October 7, 2023.

What his platform says
[Position, read 2026-10-08] His campaign site's About page lists nine principles (among them an America First worldview, national sovereignty and fiscal responsibility) and nine legislative goals for 2027 to 2028, including funding the Department of Defense against "the geopolitical threats of Communist China, Russia, and Iran". It does not mention Israel, Gaza, Palestinians or foreign aid. Its home, events, gallery and contact pages carry nothing on the subject either.
[Position, 2024] His 2024 Ballotpedia questionnaire names national sovereignty as the country's greatest challenge, Chip Roy as the representative he would model himself on, and Homeland Security, Science, Space and Technology, and Armed Services as committees of interest. It does not mention Israel.
The race
[Read 2026-10-08] Ballotpedia: "Incumbent Jeff Crank (R), Jessica Killin (D), Christopher Mitchell (American Constitution Party), Mark Elworth Jr. (L), and Steven Fuller (Unaffiliated) are running in the general election for U.S. House Colorado District 5 on November 3, 2026." Fuller is a write-in candidate. "Christopher Mitchell has not yet completed Ballotpedia's 2026 Candidate Connection survey." His 2024 answers describe him as a "Former Republican, now a member of the Colorado American Constitution Party" who ran for the seat in 2022 and for mayor of Colorado Springs in 2023; his iVoterGuide profile lists the 2022, 2023 and 2024 races.

Not on the card, and why
His "Strongly Agree" on Islamic terrorism: not about what the United States sends the government of Israel or Palestinians.
His party platform's line against "entangling alliances" (2022): a party text he quoted, naming no country.
His platform on China, Russia, Iran, the border, energy and spending: out of scope.
