But What Can You Do? tracks where 2026 candidates stand on U.S. weapons and funding for the government of Israel. How we check

How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.
Two reviewers, reading the public record as a whole, agree: His campaign's September 2026 post pairs "The Uniparty cares more about Israel than real Americans" with a graphic it chose to publish saying "NOT MY TAX DOLLARS" for Israel's weapons, which, with his call to end all wars and cut military spending, says U.S.-funded weapons for Israel should stop, with nothing pointing the other way. Reviewed by hand on 2026-10-01. This candidate has no recorded tracked floor votes.
In September 2026 Elworth's campaign posted on X that "The Uniparty cares more about Israel than real Americans", with a graphic objecting to Colorado's federal taxes paying for weapons for the government of Israel. His 2026 candidate survey says: "I want to end all wars and cut military spending."

Mark Elworth Jr., who goes by Marky Jr., is the Libertarian nominee in Colorado's 5th District. He faces Representative Jeff Crank, the Republican, Jessica Killin, the Democrat, and Christopher Mitchell of the American Constitution Party on November 3, with Steven Fuller running as a write-in. Born in Omaha and a marijuana-legalization activist since the 1990s, he has run for office since 2014: for governor of Nebraska, for the House in Iowa and Nebraska, and in Colorado's 3rd District in 2024, a race he left before the general election. He has never held office, so there are no votes on this record.
His one statement naming the government of Israel is a social media post. On September 23, 2026 his campaign's X account posted "The Uniparty cares more about Israel than real Americans" and "Vote #LibertarianParty in 2026". The post carries a graphic from Not My Tax Dollars, a campaign against U.S. funding for the government of Israel, which puts a dollar figure on what Colorado pays in federal tax dollars for weapons for the government of Israel, under the line "NOT MY TAX DOLLARS". The post does not say how he would vote on that aid.
The rest of his platform is general. The first of the three key messages in his answers to Ballotpedia's candidate survey, submitted May 30, 2026, reads "I want to end all wars and cut military spending", and adds "We need to quit playing world police". It names no country. The Libertarian Party of Colorado's flyer for his campaign lists personal liberty, limited government and economic freedom. He has left all 32 of iVoterGuide's 2026 questions unanswered and has no campaign website. A campaign press release posted on Reddit in August 2026 is listed on his research page for anyone who can open it.
In their words

The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.
Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-10-08 unless the entry says otherwise. No campaign website was found: Ballotpedia lists campaign X and YouTube accounts and a personal Instagram account, and The Ballot Brief reports none as of September 8, 2026. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Undated pages are recorded on the date we read them. Elworth has never held office, so none of the congressional votes this site tracks is his, and no funding from the committees this site tracks is recorded on this record. Nothing located on this subject falls in the reaction window.
U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel
[Position, 2026-09-23] His campaign's X account, @markelworthjr, headed "2026 Libertarian Candidate for US House, Colorado District 5", posted: "The Uniparty cares more about Israel than real Americans" followed by "Vote #LibertarianParty in 2026". The attached image is a square graphic reading, in capitals, "COLORADO PAYS", a dollar figure, "IN FEDERAL TAX DOLLARS FOR ISRAEL'S WEAPONS" over an outline of Colorado with an Israeli flag, then "NOT MY TAX DOLLARS" and "LEARN MORE AT: NOTMYTAXDOLLARS.ORG". The graphic's words are those of Not My Tax Dollars, not his; the post is his campaign's. Not My Tax Dollars describes itself as showing how much of a city's federal tax dollars "went to Israel" and calls for ending U.S. funding to Israel.
[Position, 2026-05-30] His Ballotpedia Candidate Connection answers, submitted May 30, 2026, first key message: "I want to end all wars and cut military spending. We need to quit playing world police when we have too many issues at ho.e." It names no country.

Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying
[Position, 2026-09-23] The X post above, "The Uniparty cares more about Israel than real Americans". It names no organization.
[Position, 2026-05-30] His 2026 Ballotpedia answers: "I don't accept donations and work for you not corporate donors." It names no organization.
[Undated, read 2026-10-08] His iVoterGuide profile for 2026 lists "Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?" with "Did not answer". All 32 of its questions read "Did not answer", so the blank is a fact about the guide's coverage of him.
[Position, 2026-03-17] The Libertarian Party of Colorado's flyer, created March 17, 2026, gives his background as a petitioner for medical marijuana initiatives since 1995 and the party's 2014 nominee for governor of Nebraska, and lists three key issues: personal liberty, limited government, and economic freedom ("Lower taxes, cut regulations, and end tariffs that raise prices."). Nothing on foreign policy.
[Read 2026-10-08] His campaign YouTube channel, headed "Mark 'Marky Jr' Elworth for US House, Colorado D5", lists fifteen videos, none on this subject.
[Read 2026-10-08] Ballotpedia: "Incumbent Jeff Crank (R), Jessica Killin (D), Christopher Mitchell (American Constitution Party), Mark Elworth Jr. (L), and Steven Fuller (Unaffiliated) are running in the general election for U.S. House Colorado District 5 on November 3, 2026." Fuller is a write-in candidate. It records his earlier runs: governor of Nebraska in 2014 (Libertarian), the House in Iowa in 2018 and Nebraska's 3rd District in 2020 and 2022, and Colorado's 3rd District in 2024, from which he withdrew. He was born in Omaha.

Not on the card, and why
The blank 2026 and 2020 iVoterGuide entries: guide coverage, not a position.
His pledge not to accept donations: about his campaign's money, naming no organization.
The words our research attributed to the August 2026 press release: the page could not be opened, so nothing is quoted from it.
His platform on marijuana, taxes, tariffs and civil liberties: out of scope.
