Deep Dive

Kat Cammack has represented Florida’s 3rd District, which runs from Gainesville and Ocala north and west to the Suwannee Valley and the Gulf, since January 2021, and she sits on the Energy and Commerce Committee and the Agriculture Committee. She is running for re-election on November 3, 2026 against Seth Harp and Mike Klein. Our research read her congressional newsroom back to 2022, all 165 issues of her weekly constituent newsletter from March 2022 to May 2025, and her campaign site, and found no statement from her about what the United States should send the government of Israel in weapons or money. Her recorded votes are shown on this card. She has published nothing about any of them, so none is described in words here.

What she has said is about the relationship itself. In her newsletter of November 22, 2024 she wrote that University of Florida students had come to Washington with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a lobbying organization that works for close United States and Israel ties, and that she was grateful they stopped by to share their support for our greatest ally in the Middle East. In April 2024 she wrote that she will always support our Jewish neighbors and our ally Israel. On December 18, 2024 she led a press conference with colleagues demanding the return of the remaining hostages in Gaza, and heard from two relatives of hostages. In July 2024 she wrote that attending Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress was a distinct privilege, and, in the same paragraph, about the crowd protesting outside, that she consistently offers to buy the protesters one-way tickets to Gaza.

Most of her published work on this subject is about American campuses. In her newsletter of May 3, 2024 she wrote that she was proud of the University of Florida for protecting Jewish students on campus and would keep making clear that antisemitism will not be tolerated. Five days later, on Fox News, she said Congress should start by defunding the universities that tolerate the protests, and that Congress has the power of the purse and has to use it. In March 2025 she said students in the United States on visas do not have the right to remain in the country if they harbor pro-terror sentiments. In May 2026 she spoke at a summit of the National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, a coalition of Republican lawmakers, administration officials and religious leaders formed to confront antisemitism on the political right, where The Washington Times reported that she warned of the internet’s corrosive “race to the top of Mount Clickmore”.

Her earlier record starts on her first days in office. Sworn in on January 3, 2021, she told a Gainesville television station that she had pledged to plant the flag of Israel outside her door next to the American flag, beside the office of Rep. Rashida Tlaib. As the lead Republican on a homeland security subcommittee in February 2022 she called on the federal government to protect Jewish institutions and houses of worship through FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program. A January 2022 letter to appropriators asking that a $1 billion replenishment of Israel’s Iron Dome be kept in the defense funding bill is the one item in our research that speaks directly to United States money; the published copy is a scan whose signature pages could not be read, so whether she signed it is on her research page rather than stated here, along with what she said in the weeks after October 7, 2023.

You are better placed than we are to close the question this card opens. Ask Cammack directly what the United States should send the government of Israel, and send us the reply: it goes on this page in her own words.

How this mark works

We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. A dash means No Position Found: we found nothing in their own words about Israel, Gaza or the war.

See a dash? Ask the candidate where they stand, then send us their answer and we'll review it and update the mark. Or volunteer to help review candidates.

Voted to send weapons or funding in more than half of their recorded tracked votes. (Supported sending weapons or funding in 5 of 5 tracked votes.)

Research log

The notes behind this card: what we looked at, what we found, and where each item came from.

Every page named below was opened and read on 2026-09-07 unless the entry says otherwise. Her congressional newsroom was paged through to the start of the archive, 250 press releases from June 2022 to September 2026 and 88 In The News items from March 2021 to February 2026, and every one of the 165 issues of her weekly constituent newsletter from March 4, 2022 to May 23, 2025 was read. Her campaign site was read in full. Bands: Position (2024-01-26 onward), Reaction window (2023-10-07 to 2024-01-25), Earlier record (before 2023-10-07), Undated. Her recorded House votes and the tracked funding totals are shown as badges on this card and are not restated here.

U.S. military aid and weapons to the government of Israel

  • Nothing located in her own words, at any date. No statement by her about arms transfers, weapons shipments, Foreign Military Financing, security assistance, supplemental appropriations for Israel or any bill on those subjects appears in her newsroom, in any of the 165 newsletters, on her campaign site, or in any of the news reports read for this card.
  • [Earlier record, 2022-01-21] Our research reports that she signed a bipartisan letter to the leaders of the House Appropriations Committee urging that the $1 billion replenishment of Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system be kept in the final fiscal 2022 defense appropriations bill. The letter itself, published by Jewish Insider, opens, but it is a scan: the signature pages are images and no name could be read from them. Jewish Insider's report of January 24, 2022 says 106 House members signed a letter organized by Rep. Donald Norcross of New Jersey, and quotes it: "We strongly support providing the full $1 billion for the Iron Dome replenishment." The report does not name Cammack, and no other list of signatories was found. Her signature is therefore unconfirmed and is not written on the card.
  • [Position, 2024-04-20] Our research reports that she "introduced an amendment to eliminate non-military, economic funding in foreign assistance legislation". The report it cites, by the Rhode Island Current and carried on Rep. Gabe Amo's House site, says something narrower: "House lawmakers voted overwhelmingly to reject amendments from Republican Reps. Victoria Spartz of Indiana, Greene and Kat Cammack of Florida." And: "Cammack's would have removed all non-military funding in the bill, like economic aid." The bill in that passage is the Ukraine aid bill, described in the paragraphs immediately above it; the article's separate section on the Israel bill does not mention her. The amendment is about Ukraine, and it is not on the card.
  • [Position, 2024-05-15] Our research reports that she presided as Speaker pro tempore during the House's consideration of H.R. 8369, the Israel Security Assistance Support Act, citing the Congressional Record for that day. The record of May 15, 2024 was read in full. Her name appears in it in roll-call tallies and once on a motion to discharge the Rules Committee on a disaster tax relief resolution. She is not recorded as presiding, she made no remarks, and the record's own closing note gives H.R. 8369 as the programme for the following day. The claim is unconfirmed and is not written on the card.
  • Her recorded votes on H.R. 6126, H.R. 7217, H.R. 8034 and H.R. 8369, her vote on the amendment to strike $500 million for Israeli Cooperative Programs, and her absence from the July 2026 vote on the Massie amendment are shown as badges on this card. She has published nothing about any of them: nothing in 250 press releases, 165 newsletters, or her campaign site mentions any of these bills. The Foundation for Middle East Peace's record of what members said about the July 15, 2026 vote does not name her either.

U.S. aid to Palestinians

  • Nothing located, at any date. Neither UNRWA, nor Gaza humanitarian funding, nor the aid pipeline is mentioned anywhere in her newsroom, her newsletters or her campaign site.

Characterization of the conflict

  • [Position, 2024-04-26] Her newsletter: "On Monday we wished a blessed Passover to our Jewish friends in Florida's Third and across the nation as the holiday began. We stand with our Jewish friends everywhere as they observe this meaningful holiday, especially amid protests on college campuses across the country, we will always support our Jewish neighbors and our ally Israel."
  • [Position, 2024-07-26] Her newsletter: "On Wednesday, I had the distinct privilege of attending Prime Minister Netanyahu's address to Congress. The acts of terrorism Hamas has committed against Israel are horrific. While Netanyahu spoke, just down the street there were thousands of Pro-Hamas sympathizers burning the American flag and flying the Palestinian flag atop the poles in front of Union Station. I consistently offer to purchase the protesters one-way tickets to Gaza because they love it so much. The offer stands for any pro-Hamas protesters who want to see the stark differences between Palestine and the United States." Elsewhere in the same issue: "Earlier this week, Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed a joint session of Congress while 20,000+ pro-Hamas protestors descended on D.C. to burn and vandalize flags and property. It was a hell of a day."
  • [Position, 2024-11-22] Her newsletter, under the heading "From One Swamp To Another, Gators Stand With Israel": "A group of UF students visited the Capitol this week as part of a trip with AIPAC to share their support for the strong relationship between the U.S. and Israel. We always appreciate their voices and are grateful they stopped by to share their support for our greatest ally in the Middle East!"
  • [Position, 2024-12-20] Her newsletter: "On Wednesday, I led a press conference with my colleagues demanding the return of the remaining hostages in Gaza. We heard from Aviva Siegel, who, along with her husband Keith (an American), was taken by Hamas on October 7, 2023 from her home. We also heard from Yarden Gonen whose sister Romi is still in Hamas captivity." The Wednesday of that newsletter week was December 18, 2024. The same issue records a television interview about the hostages still held.
  • [Position, 2024-10-04] Her newsletter marks Rosh Hashanah and says she will always stand with Jewish neighbours around the world.
  • [Position, 2025-04-11] Her newsletter records a visit from Jewish students at the University of Florida.
  • [Reaction window, 2023-10-07] Our research reports that she said "The State of Israel is under attack" and that Israel has an absolute right to defend itself, citing a Florida Politics round-up. That page could not be opened on 2026-09-07 and the quotation could not be checked. Her own newsletter of the following week, below, carries her words on the same subject.
  • [Reaction window, 2023-10-13] Her newsletter, headed "Standing With Israel & The Speaker's Battle", carries her account of the attacks of October 7 and of her office's work to help Americans leave Israel. Not on the card summary; recorded here with its date.
  • [Reaction window, 2023-10-12] Her release on a resolution introduced with Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, demanding the release of American hostages, a return to maximum sanctions on Iran, and the refreezing of $6 billion in Iranian funds. Not on the card summary; recorded here with its date.
  • [Reaction window, 2023-10-20, 2023-11-03, 2023-11-17, 2023-12-08 and 2023-12-15] Five further newsletters carry her words on the war, on the March for Israel on the National Mall, on university presidents, and on the Biden administration's handling of support for Israel. Not on the card summary; recorded here with their dates. Their addresses are in the source list below.
  • [Reaction window, 2023-11-13] Young America's Foundation's interview with her, headed "INTERVIEW: Congresswoman Cammack Urges Students to 'Be Brave' & Stand for Israel". Not on the card summary; recorded here with its date. Our research dated it November 15 and attributed to her the phrase "human rights issue"; the page is dated November 13, and that phrase belongs to the writer, in the closing line "As Congresswoman Cammack remarked, this is a human rights issue".

Israel-related rhetoric and lobbying

  • [Earlier record, 2021-01-05] WCJB, the ABC affiliate in Gainesville: "She (Tlaib) has some very strong opinions about Israel, and I have some very strong opinions about Israel, so I have made a pledge that I'm going to be planting the flag of Israel outside my door right next to the American flag," said Rep. Cammack. "I think it'll be very helpful as she walks past it every day." Jewish News Syndicate published the same account on January 6, 2021, in the same words, and adds that a spokesman for Tlaib called the pledge a publicity stunt. The Times of Israel, also on January 6, 2021, quotes a post of hers instead: "Rep. Tlaib, who has an office right next to mine in DC, has some strong opinions about Israel that I 100% disagree with, so I've made a pledge to plant Israel's flag outside my door right next to the American flag. I think it'll be very helpful as she walks past both every day". Both outlets report that the flag came from Gators for Israel, a student group at the University of Florida.
  • [Earlier record, 2023-07-21] Her newsletter, under the heading "Condemning Rep. Jayapal's Anti-Semitic Comments": "This weekend, Rep. Jayapal, the chair of the progressive wing of the House Democrats, called Israel a 'racist state.' This came just days before Israeli President Isaac Herzog's visit to Congress." And: "I find her comments disgusting and I don't think her rhetoric has any place in our nation. We will always stand with Israel and won't let these anti-semitic remarks damage the relationship between our greatest ally in the Middle East."
  • [Position, 2024-11-22] The visit organized by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, quoted in full above. The committee is a lobbying organization that works for close United States and Israel ties.
  • [Reaction window, 2023-11-21] Her release on a letter to the chief executive of TikTok, joined with Rep. Earl L. Carter and Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers, about what the letter calls terrorist propaganda and antisemitism on the platform. Not on the card summary; recorded here with its date.
  • The tracked funding totals on this record are shown as badges and are not restated here. No statement by her about donations from any organization on this subject was found.

Safety and antisemitism (context, not an answer to what America sends)

  • [Earlier record, 2022-02-08] Her opening statement as ranking member of the House Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Recovery Subcommittee, at a joint hearing on FEMA's Nonprofit Security Grant Program and protecting houses of worship: "The event that took place at the Congregation Beth Israel Synagogue is unfortunately just the latest in a string of anti-Semitic attacks that have plagued Jewish communities both at home and abroad in recent years." And: "I also remain committed to working to combat anti-Semitism and violence against all religious groups. Freedom of religion is a cornerstone of our Constitution, and any violation of this freedom should not be tolerated. For this reason, I cosponsored a bipartisan resolution condemning the recent antisemitic terrorist act on the Congregation Beth Israel Synagogue." She also notes that her district includes the University of Florida, "which is home to the largest Jewish student organization in the country, Gators for Israel".
  • [Position, 2024-05-03] Her newsletter: "I'm proud of UF for standing up to protect free speech while protecting Jewish students on campus. We will continue doing everything we can to protect our Jewish community and to make it clear that antisemitism will not be tolerated." The same issue records an interview with Newsmax on May 1, 2024 on the same subject; the Newsmax page could not be opened on 2026-09-07, and nothing is quoted from it.
  • [Position, 2024-05-08] Fox News live coverage, under the entry "Rep. Kat Cammack calls for Congress to defund universities that 'tolerate' disruptive protests", reporting an appearance on "The Faulkner Focus": "Listen, I think we start with defunding these universities that tolerate this kind of B.S.," she said. "When you have students that are being physically assaulted, intimidated, prohibited from going to class, they're canceling graduations...this is a total assault on American students, on Israelis, on Jewish American students." And: "It's unacceptable. We have the power of the purse. We have to exercise it...we need to actually wield the power of the purse and pull back all the funding for these universities." The ellipses are Fox News's own. Our research dated the report to May 9; the entry is dated May 8 on the page.
  • [Position, 2024-05-10] Her newsletter records a second appearance on the same programme about the campus protests.
  • [Position, 2025-03-21] Her newsletter: "I joined Harris Faulkner on the Faulkner Focus to discuss the anti-Israel protests across the country and on college campuses, including Columbia University. Students in the United States on student visas do not have the right to remain in our country if they harbor pro-terror sentiments. It's a privilege to be allowed entry to our nation."
  • [Position, 2025-05-09] Her newsletter records another interview under the heading "Discussing President Trump's Economy & Anti-Israel Protests".
  • [Position, 2026-05-21] The Washington Times, reporting a summit of the National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism at the Museum of the Bible: "Rep. Kat Cammack of Florida warned of the internet's corrosive 'race to the top of Mount Clickmore.'" That single clause is everything the article says about her. Our research reported that she warned about "media algorithms and online commentary in driving right-wing and youth antisemitism"; the article attributes no such words to her.

What her campaign site says

  • [Undated; read 2026-09-07] katforcongress.com and its Meet Kat, Accomplishments and Updates pages. The site sets out the southern border, small business, the Second Amendment, taxes and spending, veterans and first responders. The words Israel, Gaza, Palestinian, antisemitism, Jewish, foreign aid and Middle East appear nowhere on it.

The race

  • [Undated; read 2026-09-07] Ballotpedia: "Incumbent Kat Cammack, Seth Harp, and Mike Klein are running in the general election for U.S. House Florida District 3 on November 3, 2026." The Republican primary was cancelled and she advanced from it unopposed.
  • [Position, 2026-07-31] The News4JAX voter's guide for this district records: "The incumbent Republican, first elected in 2020, has not responded to email and telephone invitations to complete the News4JAX candidate questionnaire."

Not on the card, and why

  • Everything she said in the weeks after October 7, 2023: her October and November 2023 and December 2023 newsletters, the October 12, 2023 hostage resolution, the November 13, 2023 Young America's Foundation interview and the November 21, 2023 letter to TikTok. All are above with their dates.
  • The Iran material in the October 12, 2023 resolution, and the September 2022 letter asking that the Iranian president be denied a visa: Iran is a different question from what the United States sends to the government of Israel.
  • Her April 2024 amendment to the Ukraine aid bill: Ukraine, not this question. It is above with the correction.
  • Her December 2022 visit to American service members in the Middle East: it is about American troops.
  • The recorded votes and the tracked funding totals: both are shown as badges on this card, and she has published nothing about any of the votes, so none is characterized in the prose.
  • Seth Harp's and Mike Klein's answers in the district voter's guide: they belong on their own cards.
