Jon Husted
Sen. Jon Husted (R), appointed to Ohio's Senate seat in January 2025 to succeed JD Vance and the 2026 Republican nominee (May 5, 2026 primary), has voted to let proposed U.S. arms sales to Israel proceed. On April 3, 2025 he voted Nay on both S.J.Res. 33 (roll call 165) and S.J.Res. 26 (roll call 166), and on July 30, 2025 he voted Nay on both S.J.Res. 41 (roll call 454) and S.J.Res. 34 (roll call 455) — each a joint resolution that would have blocked a specific proposed U.S. arms sale or defense export to Israel; all four motions to discharge failed. As of July 24, 2026 a review of his Senate press releases (husted.senate.gov) found no statement specifically addressing U.S. military aid to Israel or the arms-sale disapproval votes; his only closely related on-record statements concern combating antisemitism and support for the June 2025 U.S. strikes on Iran.
