How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). There an X also covers fully backing the conduct of the war by the government of Israel without significant reservations, and a question mark also covers speaking about Israel without saying clearly where they stand on U.S. weapons and funding. Levy, a socialist on the ballot as an independent, would cut all U.S. aid to the government of Israel. His campaign platform calls for "cutting all aid to the racist, genocidal state of Israel", and on September 24, 2026 he posted on X: "End all U.S. aid to Israel immediately."

His campaign platform calls for "cutting all aid to the racist, genocidal state of Israel", and ties the demand to spending at home: the money the country spends on war "should instead be spent to address the dire crises facing working people". On September 24, 2026 he put the demand in one line in a post on X: "Arrest Netanyahu. End all U.S. aid to Israel immediately." Nothing located has him taking a position on U.S. aid to Palestinians as a separate question.

U.S. military aid and weapons to Israel
[Position, 2026-09-25] His campaign platform, also on his home page: "The approximately $1 trillion that the U.S. taxpayers spend every year on war should instead be spent to address the dire crises facing working people—on healthcare, housing, and ending poverty. This means cutting all aid to the racist, genocidal state of Israel and lifting the cruel, deadly sanctions that strangle ordinary people in nations like Cuba, Venezuela and Iran."

[2026-02-21] He launched the campaign at Holy Trinity Church in Cleveland's Fairfax neighborhood (The Cleveland Observer, 2026-04-13; the report does not mention Israel). The campaign's own launch statement no longer opens (see below), so an earlier description of it, as calling for an immediate end to all U.S. military aid and arms shipments to Israel, is not confirmed on any live page.
Characterization of the conflict
[Position, 2026-09-25] The platform describes Israel as a "racist, genocidal state"; it does not mention Gaza. His characterization and his policy are the same sentence.
2026-02-21 [Current position]: At the launch and in later publications he framed U.S. foreign policy as complicit in global violence and criticized both major parties for funding military operations abroad instead of investing at home (reported; the launch statement no longer opens). His platform blames "both Democrat and Republican parties" for Ohio's deindustrialization.
Rhetoric and lobbying
2026-05-15: Cincinnati Magazine profile: he joined the Party for Socialism and Liberation four years earlier, and this is his first race for office. It does not quote him on Israel.
2026-08-02: Socialist Alternative, a socialist group, names him among the Party for Socialism and Liberation's candidates in an article urging support for left independent candidates.
[Reported, 2026-09-17] Cleveland Peace Action, a Cleveland advocacy group, writes that he "vows not to take money from Zionist or corporate donors and work to end Ohio investment in Israel Bonds". This is the group describing him; the words are not on his own site. A pledge about his own fundraising is not a position on what the United States sends.
