How this mark works
We track key votes on sending U.S. weapons and money to the government of Israel. A check means every tracked vote they cast came down against sending more, on the side of peace and de-escalation. A question mark means a mixed record: they sided with sending up to half of the time. An X means they voted to send more weapons and money in over half of their tracked votes, even as the way those weapons and dollars were being used became more and more obvious. At exactly half, money this election cycle from a lobbying group we track, or an endorsement from a group that backs sending weapons, makes it an X. Only votes actually cast are counted. Where a candidate has no recorded votes on these bills, the mark comes instead from a reviewed reading of their public record (money from the lobbying groups we track, endorsements, and their own words since January 26, 2024). Mike Marvin is the Legal Marijuana Now Party's nominee for the U.S. Senate in Nebraska; he won its May 12, 2026 primary. It is a minor party; Nebraska Public Media reports that he entered the race with legalizing medical and recreational marijuana as his top priority. He led the state employees' union, the Nebraska Association of Public Employees, as executive director from 2013 to 2017.
On August 21, 2026 he ended his campaign, citing worsening health, and urged his supporters to vote for Dan Osborn. The deadline to take a name off the general election ballot had passed on August 3, so his name stays on the November ballot, but he has said he will not ask voters for their support. His campaign site now carries his statement: "I will be remaining on the ballot, but I am now urging all who supported me to now support Dan Osborn."
His campaign's platform page, still online, has a section headed Ending Foreign Wars. It reads: "The United States must no longer participate in these foreign entanglements that have done nothing else but to stoke anger against the United States and hurt our very own servicemen and servicewomen. Every single dollar spent to drop bombs in another nation, are your tax dollars that could be spent on our schools, or our infrastructure."

[2026-08-21] Ended his campaign, citing worsening health, and urged his supporters to vote for Dan Osborn (KOLN; Nebraska Public Media). His name remains on the November 3, 2026 ballot because the August 3 deadline to withdraw from the general election ballot had passed; Nebraska Public Media reports he "will not solicit voters for their support". His campaign site carries the statement in his words: "Once again for me this has always been about defeating Pete Ricketts, and with my worsening condition, I know I cannot put in the effort this race requires.. I will be remaining on the ballot, but I am now urging all who supported me to now support Dan Osborn." (The doubled full stop is in the original.)
He advanced from the Legal Marijuana Now Party primary on May 12, 2026 (Ballotpedia; primary results). He was executive director of the Nebraska Association of Public Employees from 2013 to 2017 (KOLN); Nebraska Public Media reports he was a bus driver in Omaha for 26 years and a labor leader for Nebraska unions.
